There is definitely air getting in the coolant from somewhere and that can't be good.

-Mike-

That doesn't sound good at all. Please keep us posted as to what you find. Just as a suggestion, have you looked at the PHH lately? When I first got my truck, the PHH was shot and the coolant level was low. When I added coolant, then it puked from the PHH.

If only it were that easy, but at least it's worth asking the question...

It is starting to look like I will be there but taking the Tacoma and riding with someone that has an open seat. My truck is puking coolant and I haven't had a chance to find the problem. There is definitely air getting in the coolant from somewhere and that can't be good.

I can stop by and take a look Mike if you want. Drop a line.

Pristine must have heard I mentioned her for Pritchett and got so nervous she puked.

OK, just got back and reread all of this. I'm so confused. Is there still an expo trip here? If so, the kind where we don't need reservations somewhere? And how many are still in? I can leave pretty much anytime after the 3rd or so. Will be at Fort Bliss until then. Being at Moab from 7th or 8th is no problem. Caravan out from here w/ someone, group? If not, meet where?

I'm on 33's, and heavy for a Tacoma, so that's pretty limiting for Moab. I have another trip in the San Rafael Swell from the 13th to 17th, mostly for exploring, hiking and taking photos, but it's really close.

I'll have an open shotgun seat if anyone wants to go, knowing you'll have to share a FlipPac. You'll also need a ride home if that's an issue as I'll be staying in Utah.

no expedition trip. only Moab. we are staying at Slickrock campground. you can stay at a hotel or any other campground. that is where the main group is going to be.

I am leaving on Thursday the 7th. I get off work that morning at this point and so will have to leave a bit later, like 10 or 11am. plenty of people still in. off the top at least 6 vehicles.

Thanks, Shawn. Since there's no expo trip, I'm set up heavy now, and am going to San Rafael Swell 13 - 17, I'm gonna pass on this one. Have a great time, ya'll. Take lots of photos.

My brother Rick, son Tim, and I are taking a Motorhome and staying at the KOA near Rick's brother-in-law Jerry and his wife Wanda. I think we're heading up the 550 leaving on Thursday about noon, but not exactly sure what time.

Mike - did you get that thing fixed yet?

P.S. Rick's bringing his new (to him) KLR650.

Not yet but I will be there in the Tacoma if Pristine doesn't want to participate. I might take a friend's 4R or 40 since Jon Boy has discovered girls and has quit wheelin'. ;)

Is there a spare seat for me in that KLR650 whatever the hell that is?

Mike, if you ride bitch, make sure you know that the driver will be going down with you. It would be a totally a$$hole move on rock or pavement, but the water does not does not feel so bad on a jet ski (depending on the speed). Just a FYI.

Ignore all my before comments. I have too much I need to do, so I can't go.

Mike - (and Rudy) I am sure there will be plenty of empty seats available.

I was looking at:
  • Rose Garden Hill
  • Flat iron Mesa
  • Strike Ravine
  • Poison Spider Mesa

  • Okay, back on track. Has someone done these?

No problem Rudy... no problem. :D

I love your sense of humor Mike,

My next comment would been have been: "Mike, if "Pristine" can't be ready by next week and you really want to drive, you are more than welcome if you want to drive mine. I know she is not set up like yours, but at least those lockers would get some use. I know you are great take care of your truck and you would treat mine like it was yours, so I would trust you with mine. I already have coverage with my insurance for coverage on an accidentall roll over in this case, so all should be fine. Otherwise she will sit all week long, except to get her out of my way." Like you said, no problem to ignore me. :flipoff2:

I've done Rose Garden Hill (as has Ali). It is only a small portion of the Kokopelli Trail. I would not waste my time for this section of trail. It's really just an obstacle.

Now if you all were to take two days to do the whole Kokopelli, then it sure would be worth it.

I concur with Beno.

Poison Spider is fun. Its not too long and has great views, plus you can do a few of the obsticles on Golden Spike.
I've never done any of the others.

Hell's Revenge is a good one. All the tough obsticles can be bypassed.
Porcupine Rim is interesting. More scenic than hard. This time we should have Mike lead since I missed the best photographic spot last time I was in front.
Metal Masher, did it once a long time ago.
Steel Bender, done it a couple times.
Moab Rim and Gliff Hanger are good. Moab Rim does have a bit of a pucker factor on a couple spots. If it rains this trail is not recomended. Cliff Hanger isn't recomended either if it rains since you have to cross a good size stream to start the trail.
