Right. Seems to be just regular stuff that can be bought from amazon but without special branding.

Hopefully real vehicle specific items will follow at some point.
I’m sure some are vehicle specific (skid plate, rock sliders, mud flaps, roof rack, etc that they are showing on the first edition), but then yeah I’m sure most of that 100 is aftermarket stuff like arb recovery gear, dometic fridge, Yakima/thule racks/hitch accessories), and then the trash dealer add-on Toyota accessories like a TRD exhaust tip, etc
 
Tires and rock sliders and you will be fine. If it doesn’t come with skid plates, then add some too. I took my 200 up Imogene with just 33” K02s and rock sliders. But you won’t need to do significant mods to make it off-road worthy.

Any trail rash to speak of? I believe the 200 has slightly more clearance than the 250
 
For Imogene - you could do that in a CRV or Rav4 awd model. People do it all the time. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. It's basically just a gravel road with really steep drop offs on the sides. People do blackbear in CUVs too - but it takes more careful driving. It's a lot rougher, but not technically challenging. I probably wouldn't do Black Bear in my Lexus RX350, but I'd do Imogene. It would be fine. It's spectacular visually - absolutely worth the trip. Just not really a technically challenging offroad trail.

Somewhat on topic is this off-road comparison of touring wagons. Given shared chassis and noting LC 250’s lack of front locker, its performance should be similar to the 300’s zero drama shown here.

I scratched my rear bumper cover coming down off a rock on the way down. We headed up from Telluride and went down through Ouray and it was on the way down that I got a little rash. Not a big deal.

I was there with the 200 Land Cruiser Destination Club and there were a number of 200s that went down Black Bear. I know that most of them were built, but I suspect I could have done Black Bear without difficulty (other than the pucker factor).

Interesting to see how the LC300 does there. Appears to have a bit more suspension travel than the Ineos and a LOT more than the other two. The Land Rover has very limited travel in real world conditions.

My Defender is my first LR, and it’s honestly amazing. I was concerned about flex in the beginning, but once you experience the computer’s capabilities, you worry less about the flex.

I’m still on a list for the GXOT and will be trading in, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the LR...while it’s under warranty ; )

Fun to see an IFS 300 out-flex the rigid-axle Gren. Toyota did a great job benchmarking that chassis against the 80.

I love the styling on them. The horror stories of having to ship them to Seattle for repairs are enough to keep them off my list. But I think they've done a good job at building a really good crossover model that is a good car first and a pretty good off-road model too.

I like the styling of Land Rovers, but I just don’t trust their reliability and I tend to keep my vehicles until they are well out of warranty.
 
IF you ever wanted to venture to the dark side I think it’s worth it for one vehicle in your life to try. A one year old CPO have the longest warranties.

I’ve had 4 LCs and a 4-Runner, so I’m glad I at least experienced LR and can now bitch and praise them in my drinking tales to others : )

Awesome video!! Reminds me of the off-road comparison series where they take like 8 different SUVs up a steep incline on several different runs just like this. Can’t rememebr the series but it’s pretty memorable in that it has an Asian guy “talking” but the voice over is near perfect English.

This video made me angry...why couldn't we just have had a lower spec 300 series in the US...? Here's to hoping the 250 performs as well!

LR V8s are so nice
