As big as your trailer is I'd be a little worried about the hitch tie in especially if your using a load distributing hitch.
Is that the 19ft version? We have the 17z and LOVE IT! Installed airbas and it made a HUGE difference in towing (especially for 6 hours).

I like how he kept the weight down. I'm real bad about over building and coming out with stuff being 10 times heavier then it needs to be on my own projects.That was my concern from the get go... however, the guy that built the bumper and hitch is a mechanical engineer... after looking a the end result i have more confidence in his work that the reese hitch i was using.
Thanks guys. The bumper is made from .125" cold rolled. The entire bottom edge is plated with .25"x4" bar stock. The mounts are chopped up 3/16 rectangle tubing that ties into 4 of the 6 stock hitch mounts, not pictured are the forward mounts behind the tires that are a blatant ripoff from the slee bumper.
There aren't any good hitch pics in the thread, but it is constructed with 2"x3"x.25" rectangle tubing, .25" gusset in the center, and .125" gussets from the 2x3 to the outer .375" mounting plates. The hitch sandwiches the bumper brackets to the frame, which has been boxed and sleeved for 3 14mm bolts on each rail. The bumper and hitch tie together with two 14mm bolts.
I have quite a bit of redundency with welded surfaces and the amount of big bolts used. It is more substantial then the hitch on my 3/4 ton. I understand why you guys might question the integrity of the assembly from the pics that have been posted.
I used .125" because I have been trail riding with Shreg for 13-14 years, and I know how it will be treated. Also, because it is easier to work with compared with .1875", which I think would be the right material for a beefy bumper. I have a lot of .125" and less on my crawler that has held up well to a ton of abuse for a decade, but it does weigh about half of what a 80 does.
I don't think the bumper even weighs 75lbs. The last one I built for shregs 80 was all 3/16, and it was a pig. This one is easy to put on by myself.
Main thought in designing the bumper was to tuck it in a couple inches, and try to copy the stocker more then most bumpers out there. I tried to do that by using a .5" radius in the brake, and tucking the corners in tighter. I also like how my wifes grand cherokee has the hitch tucked up into the bumper, so thats why there is the cut out in the center. I also do not like making a bumper a hitch, because of all the structure involved.
I am going to make flare extensions, I haven't used my shrinker, stretcher, or planishing hammer lately.The bumper looks unfinished without.
If people actually like this thing, I can model it and have a sit down with my cnc press brake guy for some DFM. There is no way I would build more of these the same way and hit any reasonable price point.
