Been there, done that…..being the one on the bike. Lucky.

So you're just gonna re-engine that Sprinter and flip it? What year and motor have you got as replacement?
Ya, its an 2006 sprinter. I found a 06 motor and tranny. 2.7L Mercedes diesel.

Had some excitement today… heading east on Tattersall, an oncoming motorcycle came into the corner too fast and crossed the double yellow line…

To avoid hitting him head on I swerved off the road, dodged a signpost (now on my left) and a rock wall on my right. Meanwhile the bike was squirming back and forth and now upright coming down the middle of the lane.

I brought my 10k rig to a halt, and backed off the lawn I was most of the way into. The motorcycle rider came over and said thanks, and seemed to want to hug me for saving his but. Fortunately no one was hurt, no vehicle’s damaged, and not even the law was torn up.

One of the drivers who’d pulled over behind me chewed him out for riding too fast… I didn’t tell him that. He almost layed his bike down into the front end of an ambulance, recovered and would have slammed into my rig head on… he already knew.

Wow, that's nuts. Very happy to hear everyone and everything are okay. A miracle really. Hopefully motorbike dude learned a valuable lesson there.

Thought about it but I need $$$

Here's a good one, "Mark has also advised that the entire door needs to be reinforced with 3/16th steel."

I just read this in an email. There have been some issues since Mark started storing 4-5k within site of the garage door. The 7' high, double wide door would weigh an extra thousand pounds or so if we bolted 3/16" plate steel onto it.

What do y'all think... would a 1/16" square tube aluminum garage door safely support steel that's 8.7 lbs. per square foot?

Tis’ the euro-invasion season in the Yukon. Lots of cool rigs. A few from my work trip.

How the hell did they market this hideous colour?

"We call this one, squeezed it a bit too hard."

Engorged?

The hickey you don't show mom?

Was even more repugnant in person.

Name for the colour...
Anemic Pepto-Bismol pink

Trying an experiment. I haven't managed to find these things for sale locally, and online they're something stupid like 30 bucks usd apiece.
If they work, I'll want 20 of the damn things, so **** that noise.

Pet peeve of mine is those s***ty plastic downspout filters. I always cut them off but they still catch everything and some of my gutters are really hard to get to. In theory these will let all the crap just blow straight through. I don't have perimeter drains so I'm not worried about that.

I'll start with a few and see how they do. Should be easier to make out of thicker flashing. This paper thin stuff I can actually staple together:lol:

This is the standard here in Sweden, they go on the downspout and the water falls straight through, any leaves and s*** gets stuck on the grate, then the water behind it "self cleans it" the ones we have work good, and one corner of our house is under a cherry tree.:

would be pretty easy to make...

Those would be better than what I have.
All we have here are these pieces of crap.

I figure if these save me a trip up a 40' ladder every year they'll be worth it.

Got a couple testers made.

I'm putting up snow guards soon, because our gutters just get hammered by the snow. So I figured if I'm up there putting those on, fixing gutters and s***ting pants, I may as well try these.

Can't be worse. I also have 60' runs with only 1 downspout.

I'll be adding a couple more at the same time.

Ya makes sense i need to climb up and add gutters to the box we built on our roof. So fair it just drips on the roof which is a bit noisy, but right now the focus is to get walls built and electrical and then drywall...

JULY 9 - SUNDAY -- BRITISH CAR SHOW ON THE BEACH
Ladysmith, down on Transfer Beach Park. Starts around 10 am
I usually get there around 9 and park early that way I can sit on a picnic table and watch all the cars arrive.
Nothing like watching an old '66 TVR or Land Rover come in under it's own power, way cooler to see.
There are some pretty interesting cars, old and new. There have been Aston Martin DB9's. Roller's, Bentleys....
I'll be there with the BJ74 stripped down, wearing a Land Cruiser shirt. Maybe see you there.

My neighbor will probably be there. He has a cute little Sunbeam Rapier.

Which coincidentally, I fixed an electrical problem in a couple weeks ago.

He also has an old Sunbeam motorcycle, I'm not really a bike guy, but that thing is cool.

I'll try to remember to grab a picture of it next time I'm over there.

Too bad it’s economy is measured in gallons/mile.

Oh, and since you guys were talking about these things, there were 4 Caterham Sevens here last year.
