That's cool. Your pond is about to get bigger. :)

Just saw one in Swan Lake (right by our house in Victoria) a few days ago. Pretty cool animals really.
Haha it's about as high as it's ever been right now.
Apparently the culvert under the road has collapsed , so it hasn't dropped. They have it on the list, so once that's replaced the beavers will do their best to plug it again lol

I have an aerial shot of the property from 1976 and it was just a little stream then. I guess there was a meeting of the minds in the mid 90s, when the road got flooded out, whether to blow up the beavers or raise the road...and the beavers won...

They decided to raise the road. 🤣

But yeah they're pretty cool. They patrol down to our end at night , we hear the big splash most nights when we're in bed.

I just remember these cars from when I was a kid. There was a certain kind of middle class suburb family that would buy these. Stuffing a cummins in one is more of a statement than anything useful I think. This one seems pretty well executed.

There were a whole line of cummins conversions at the meet. Obvsiously some a lot more useful.

You know, that's a great point. Dry sump maybe? (kidding) A very custom oil pan me thinks. In retrospect I should have a had a better look at this thing.
It's funny just a little while ago a guy at work was telling me about the old 60's muscle car/boat his uncle had that needed an engine.

I flippantly said throw a Cummins in there...now I can show him proof he could actually install the hood 🤣

Sliced my thumb running a file up a machete blade. Pain in the butt trying to keep bandaid on and still keep it clean. So cut the thumb off nitrile glove and used good waterproof medical tape around the finge. Works well, no more worried of frayed bandaid. Heals better. Figured this idea might be useful. Frypan cause best light is the LED over the stove.

As Crocodile Dundee would say ‘that’s not a machete, this is a machete!’ As far as street people, one must be more precise to eliminate the threat.
I was just slashing blackberries brambles around the community mailbox. s*** grows fast out here in the woods!! LOL

Sitting at the lights waiting to turn onto the highway, semi drives by, trailing flames and smoke. It's my Monday so my first thought was it's gonna be that kinda day...

He pulled over and thankfully had the presence of mind to do it at the merge so he wasn't too close to the grass etc.

Mel sent me a reel if it. It got worse... don't think it's possible to attach a reel? Or at least I couldn't figure it out.

Screenshot of it.

What's in it? Asphalt? Tar? Maybe heater caught it on fire? Nuts.

Looked like the back tire on the right side when I first saw it.

I'm not sure what the machine was. I was thinking some sort of gravel or drilling thing, but maybe asphalt?

Can't really see it but there was a cab up at the front of it with something like a crane?

That video worked. I don't understand point of reels either; I'm wrong Gen I guess, haha. Anyhow, pretty nasty fire and I'm glad it didn't spread.

Does anyone know of a shop in Greater Victoria that will turn a front dually rotor? It's a beast with the hub and rotor all in one. Since they run $350-400 a piece I'd prefer to turn them if possible. I haven't pulled the brakes apart, but at highway speed there is a bit of a flutter in the brake pedal when braking at highway speeds, and the front left rotor has some checking in the surface but minimal wear. First step will be to determine how close they are to minimal thickness. With most cars it's almost cheaper to replace the rotors rather than turn them.
