ALSO POSTED IN SALE THREAD.

I have been going over my recent purchase ('70 FJ40) and just now discovered it is missing it's skid plate. Anybody got one they'd be willing to part with? I can't see taking this thing offroad without some sort of protection under there. It seems like the list of missing parts just keeps on growing. So far I've come up short with the following items:

Tire carrier hinge and latch - Got those from Miko. Thanks Man!
Spare wheel and tire - Got a steel rim from Toyota
Sun visors - ?
Rearview mirror - Got a total POS from CCOT. Waste of $
Rear heater - ?
Horns - Picked up a cheapo set from Pep Boys
Lift gate prop strut and bracket - Got one. Missing the other.
Tailgate chains and hardware - Got stuff from Lowes
Skid plate - ?

As I said the list continues to grow. If anybody has any of this stuff let me know.

I have finally tagged and insured the '40 and have taken it on a few short drives. I was having trouble with the turn signals and determined that the switch was working but it was just so worn out that the lever wasn't fully actuating the switch. Got a new one. Good to go. The drums need adjusting and the radiator sprung a leak last weekend. Got a Champion 3 core on order. Hopefully I will have some real time to devote to it soon. I am in the middle of an Airstream camper resto right now and I have to get it done by the end of June for a trip so that is taking up all my spare time.

So it's sounding like IPOR is the way to go. I'll look into that or see if I can have somebody fab one up for cheaper.

Krzy, Not having the rear heater is not killing me and I doubt if I'll ever need it. This thing is a sweatbox anyway. I haven't driven it in cold weather tho. I might hit you up for the visors. Where are you? Oh, that's right...you're in Raeford. We used to sell turkeys to House of Raeford back in the 80's. Union and Anson Counties were the top turkey producers in the U.S. back then. We grew a bunch of them down on our farms in Anson County.

I've got two factory skid plates if you go that route, but I'd go IPOR for a replacement, even if you don't plan wheeling...

Garner, I guess I will just pony up and go IPOR. I've got so many other things I want to spend my limited $ on. My kids are pestering me to get a fold-n-tumble and belts in the back for them. Thanks for your offer though. You guys have basically talked me out of the factory piece altogether. If somebody right here in Charlotte has a factory one that I can pick up cheap and with little effort I might run it for a little while until I get the IPOR skid. Otherwise I'll wait.
