Put some in, crank it, check stick. Continue until full. The 343 cant take the abuse the 442 can but maybe ok.

I’ll head back to the shop tomorrow with 8 quarts and see what happens.

I have nothing of value to offer other than the fact that the dog in your icon is how I imagine you looking while dealing with this...

Good luck, sir!

If the trans doesn't work let me know and I can pull one for you. You got half the front end from my lx, might as well get that trans from it ;)

Hopefully I’m good. Otherwise yea will need a donor. I don’t think it would be ruined by limited attempts to put in drive without fluid. Fingers crossed.

Yea, about like that. Kinda like a wet dog. Not from snow either...

Looking into a new issue with a new to me cruiser.

When you put the vehicle in reverse or drive there is a very slight change in our p.m., and the vehicle will not move forward or backwards. The brake is off. Same thing happens in high or low gear.

Any thoughts?
Hi, did you get an outcome after changing fluids etc?

@AJGH It might be better if you started a new thread and described the symptoms you're 80 series is having.

So a short somewhere in the transmission harness??

On the 80 series the fuse which the brake lights are on also has the automatic transmission lock so it must be a feature to stop you driving without brake lights, fuse number 4 in the internal fusebox next to drivers side
