I got no catalytic converters on my EFI'ed 1995 FZJ-80 (Arab version), and no OBD-II complications either :) Question is: should I continue using unleaded gas? Or can I switch to a higher octane leaded gas? What about if I put a TRD supercharger on it?

Background info on the FZJ-80: 1995 FZJ-80 VX-R, 1FZ-FE engine, factory dual-tanks, factory compass, factory diff lockers, A442F auto tranny, factory dual spare tyres, climate control (no heater though), factory electric winch, factory console mounted fridge/freezer, and other goodies :)

Nice sounding Ride Drexx....Pics please! Sorry I don't know much about the fuel issue.

LOL!!! Christo...that was funny!

And...Drexx...
As I recall, the length of time that you own a vehicle doesn't seem to correlate to whether or not you sink it...which reminds me...how's that Hilux doing? :D

Damn thing is indestructible :D I'm wheeling it like Milklos BoobieCon, no lockers baby! Yeah!
Only difference is, I maintain it as much as I care for the UZJ-100.

No heater? What? It gets cold in the Arabian desert, right? Just what you need in the Phillipines in summer...a heater. :D I knew a guy who transferred from Japan to the North Bay Area who had a VX. It was really nice. Enjoy the ride.

I would continue to use unleaded as it is better for the environment and you really don't need the lubricating properties as I'm sure that your rig has hardened rings, etc. If the price is similar, I'd stick to the unleaded. As to whether you can actually run the leaded through the EFI and computerized fuel system or not, I am not totally sure, so I'll leave that to someone else who might know the particulars on that subject. I would think that you could as there is no OBD II or cats and I'm suspecting that you have no O2 sensors also, but there may be other factors involved that I'm not aware of. The lead was originally added for lubrication purposes as it helped piston rings and cylinder walls from deteriorating. Hardened rings and cylinder walls helped to alleviate that issue when unleaded gas became the norm.

You got yourself a good looking LC Drexx. Can't wait to see how you dress it.

Post some pics when you get a chance please, some of those factory options seem really cool.

No, not anymore... but I think he just listens in sometimes. He's on and off, having been banned a coupla times :D
Sometimes he sends me his latest wheelin' pics, but now he's into Tacoma's. I think his FZJ-80 is unreliable at these times :D

Hey Drexx,

I want to see some pixs of this Arab version Land Cruiser. Looks like it is way cool with all the OEM goodies installed. Let see some pixs.
