I want to hang the A442 automatic transmission from a 1994 FZJ on a 1HD-FT diesel. Does anyone know if it will bolt right up?

Nope.
it will with the 1hd bell housing, torque converter, and throttle cable.

i don't think the 3fe was ever mated to a a442f from the factory only the a440f and yes it's a different pattern then the 1hd
A440F was also mated to 1HZ engines.
