I'm not going to argue with that. Will we be able to do charcoal grilling? I was thinking about bringing a bag of charcoal just in case there is no wood available.

Go ahead Bob, crack a joke about how much wood you can bring with you..
We should all be bringing a couple bags of wood with us, don't expect to find it laying around. With 7 rigs, each with 2 bags of wood, we should be good for 3 or 4 days of camp fires / cooking. Regarding charcoal, sure you can use it, do you have a charcoal grill you were planning on bringing?

I do, but I don't think is going to cut it for ten guys. At least not in timely matter. I do have a Dutch oven and I was thinking I might be able to use it. Still thinking logistics...

I will have my firesticks and my spun steel pots/pans/Billy with me for camp fire cooking!

Flank steak sliced thin (across the grain), small tortillas, sautéed onions, boil in bag rice, hot sauce. Salt and pepper then cook the steak over a fire or in a large cast iron skillet, turning often - it'll cook quickly. Cook some bacon until crispy in the skillet after steak is done. Slice onions and cook in the leftover bacon grease. Boil the rice while the steak cooks. Break up the bacon and combine all into a damn fine taco. There's my suggestion for the culinarily challenged among your ranks. You're welcome.

Just so you know, I ran into @OTRAMM today and he said that Bob's contribution was gonna be MRE's. Well...one of those two things is true.

EDIT: FYI the rice is a handy filler to avoid needing so much meat. Let your desire to kill your companions' gastronomical happiness thriftiness determine the ratios!

For Friday night, I am thinking either Ribeye's or marinated steak tips with grilled onions & mushrooms with a side of mashed potatoes.

That sounds a touch better than what Jeff and I have planned so I'll go ahead and concede in the cooking championship.

I could make that claim but I don't think anyone would believe me (except Lylia).

Can of soup secured on top of engine, preferably with a pop top lid, bring to temp, remove lid, drink it...no spoon.

Live large!

I would lay my money on jambalaya.

I'm bringing 3 good size boxes of wood with me, I was thinking one box per night.

Adding to the list of things that you guys may want to pack...large body wipes...great for cleaning the dust and grime off at the end of the day.

no issues with pork or lamb chops. I am also considering another dish for Friday. Prawn and Chorizo Pasta.

Mitch's 80 is camera shy.

They left early this morning and are now in Effingham, IL. Assuming Mitch finds bail money for Steve and Bart they will be back at it first thing tomorrow.

No chance for bail untill tomorrow, at least they won't have to pay for room and board tonight.
