Never seen a SC 3FE but i'm sure it can be done with a eaton SC off one of the old t-birds.

I am thinking a stock LS would have more ponies, less weight and more reliablity then a 3FE with either TC or SC. But I know its not the traditional power train.

right on all accounts.... would be close with reliability as both are very

I've not caught the diesel bug, although a diesel dually tow rig looms on the horizon.

Slowly plugging away, got the pistons it. I can still turn it over by hand and it looks so nice, all clean and oiled.

I'm being forced to show expose myself to endless ridicule. Regina gave me a "garage TV" for Christmas, she says, since I'll be spending so much time out there, trying to get this thing back together. I don't know if she is just giving me a hint or what. Regardless, the garage in now equipped with a 37" 1080p LCD. I know, what a d!ck...

Just lay me a cot down... i'm moving in :grinpimp:

Planning on buttoning up the bottom end today but, the first of what I'm sure will be many "issues" arose today.

While preparing to put the oil pump back in, I was screwing in the fitting into the block that attaches to the oil pump output. It threaded in nicely, got snug and as I gave it that last little snug, it snapped off, flush with the block. Thankfully, I had an ez-out that fit nicely and I was able to get the piece out.

Nice, all I could say was NICE...

Wow man. That stinks but you got really lucky. Hope you stopped for the day after that.

Enough to get from point A to B and have some fun along the way.

Just looking for a fresh, strong build, not worried about numbers. I'd dyno it but I don't have a benchmark. Right now, I just want to hear it run...

Looking good man! Keep up the good work!

Were you watching the new TV when you did that?

Now thats funny there. I hope he was not.

The TV is on, paying attention to it, thats another thing.

Rest assured, it was purely operator error. I used an open end wrench to install it and I clearly applied too much torque to a unit that does not need such. Part will be here on Wed and I will be sure to use the appropriate socket and not torque at all. Not like it will fall out...
