So pretty much the finally product (minus my steering stops of course) just needs some paint and she's golden. Oh and below is my buddy Kieth, Always practicing proper grinding techniques that allow him to keep one hand free for ... :D

So on a side note i picked this bad boy up for pennies on the dollar :D. Little straight axled, carbuerated 84 pickup. Figured there was no point in starting a new thread in the hi lux section since this a major back burner project.

Soooooooo..... she wouldn't start at first due to a faulty igniter and they run about $400 :frown:. So i rigged up a chevy coil and igniter and..... It worked! Only to find that i have a god awful rod knock, i mean bad..... real bad. So its time to rip the block apart. "My mama always said that inside of an engine is like a box of chocolates... ya never know what your gonna get (find)" :D

So I got this block ripped down to nothing and here is what I need:

-New crank with stock clearances
-New connecting rod
-engine rebuild kit (ALL gaskets/ALL bearings, rings, ect.ect.)
-Oil pump (its been pumping a lot of metal shavings through it so idk)
-Timing chain kit
-Timing chain cover (apparently there is two?)

Im sure I will find some misc things here and there but its lookin good.

So much to report that I dont even know where to begin. Well I guess I will start with the pick up. Got all my parts and pieces and have recently started the assembly. Currently all the pistons are in place on a new crank with new rings, bearings, ect, ect. New timing kit is in place with a new cover and all new hardware ( I lost mine ). I also pulled the dent on the drivers side fender. Thats basically it with the truck...super close to getting it finished.

Now onto the cruiser! So my front perches are on and my frame has been drilled for my shackle reversal. Everything has been welded up and is straight and square. Just got my bumper all welded up and smooth finished. Its looking extremely sexy.

Damn!!! It's been awhile since I've done anything on the cruiser! I recently picked my ass up and kicked it into gear. So I recently bought a tub from orangefj45 that's pretty damn clean. Finished all my steering on the 40 which was kind of a pain. Had to ream my arms out to Chevy 1 ton size and then on top of that grind a s*** ton of material off the ball joints cause thay touched! Oh we'll no biggie:D So I've actually started working on this tub and can't wait to see it competed. It's gonna be blasted and painted as well as bed lined. So the rear sill was rotted out (shocker) so my dad and I recently chopped that out and realized the whole channel had to go. I g
Learned that all the companies wanted 300 plus bucks for all that so.....gonna make my own. Whole tun out well, I'll be sure to post pics. We're gonna stamp the sheet metal and everything so the ambulance doors will work accordingly. Can't wait! I'm super jazzed!

Here's what's left of the old sill...

Back at it again. Just got my tub back from the blasters. Lots of work ahead of me...

Thanks. Yeah the SBC came with the rig when I bought it. I would have preferred the 2f myself but not having endless supplies of money, I decided to stick with what I got. My pickup looks a bit different too. Been trying to juggle two 4wd yotas...

Progress!!!

Called in sick today (actually was) to shoot my tub with primer. Weather here has been awesome so I'm fortunate for that at least. POR 15ed the rusty bed and primed the rest. Turned out pretty decent I guess. I'm gonna have to redo most of it anyway cause of all the body repair I need to do. I just primed it fast to stop the rust.

Runs about 35ish bucks a pint here in nor California. What's the price there?

Por15 in nsw is between 69 and 100$ for 1litre

That is a great looking build. Keep the pics coming. I'm looking foward to seeing the finished rig.
