Thanks for the compliments everyone. Its tempting to try and drive her to work with the Nor'Easter we are having right now....but the salt. Not worth it. Trying to coat the frame before I drive it again this season.

How did you find that beautiful truck up here in the north east. And you have them nice fender flares too, which of course are a rarity in this country!! Congrats on the purchase, awesome truck.

It was purchased in Missouri and driven here. Lived most of its life in New Mexico and South Carolina. Thanks, Glad you like it!

Such a pretty rig...Can't say I've ever seen a non-winch, old school ARB front bumper before. Those flares look great. I can't decide (personally) whether to say, "leave it exactly as it sits." or, "What a great foundation for a full build!" Just a really good looking 60.

Welcome!

Thanks man. I am kind of torn too. The previous owners did a great job with the aesthetics. And, given that it will be used minimally off-road, I will most likely keep it as is. Perhaps some 33s in the future. All five tires are brand new, so in the interest of saving money (HA!), Ill keep em for now.

Mechanically, a 5 speed would be choice. The 4speed has to be my least favorite thing about the truck. I'd love a 12HT in it too someday.

Nice 60

You got a great looking 60, congratulations! I've owned and stripped several 60/62 series here in PA and most are rusty, some extremely rusty. It was worth driving to MO to get this one, Congrats, again!
14MPG is good, my gets about 10 and my V8 55 gets about 11. I'm located in PA about 80 miles from Philly- and I work in Reading. (Although I'm stuck in Atlanta until I can get flight into Allentown tomorrow morning!). We're talking about a mild trail ride sometime in March at Rausch Creek- could pick some trails so you could get the tires dirty but not scratch that white beauty at all. Keep watching this club site to see if the March run materializes. Welcome to the world of cruiser ownership! Gary

Oh, sweet looking ride! What tire size are those again?
We got salt issues here to...
Also been trying to keep it off with several fluids and oils.
I have heard good things about fluid film, but i can't get it here, maybe it is better than the penetrant oil I'm using. (owatrol)

Have you looked into electric anti rust solutions?
Don't know much about them, but some day its worth a shot.

Anyway, good luck with the cruiser!

Years late to this thread, but was wondering if your Cruiser required spacers for the 40 series wheels? Hope she’s treating you well out in Philly.

Very nice! Are they that rare over there that you have to travel that far to get one?
I flew 2000+ miles to go get my 84 FJ60. it wasnt as clean as the OP's but it was rust free and in good shape. Its a real challenge in the USA to find clean unmolested FJ60s

Can you divulge what you paid for it?
