Found some Cooper tires and put them on stock wheels.
Still looking for a rear heater and windshield washer reservoir.
Won't make the meeting again this month. Should be able to in June.

Nice truck. Much better look with the stock wheels. I would like to drive my 40 to a meeting but its a long way from west of Fort Worth. With 411's eeeekk.

I daily drove my BJ42 from east fort worth to west fort worth 5 days a week on 33's and stock 4.11's. also drove it to austin and back, katemcy and back one year, and the cruiser meets.

Good clean 40,. Look forward to seeing it driving around the metroplex.

Received a couple of new accessories in the mail. All from a 63 SWB FJ45.

Not sure that I want to drill holes in the tub for the tailgate. Will probably just make some brackets and mount it solid. I need to find a place to get it painted as well. Stay tuned.

New front bumper and original set of seats should be installed in the next couple of weeks. Pics to follow when I have time to get it all done.

I took them, just hadn't posted them. :o

It's amazing what a couple of weeks at BCC (Butch's Cruiser Clinic), will do for
a worn out Cruiser.

At one time this 40 had been pulled behind a motor home. The front bumper and and brackets for the hitch had been welded in about 300 places.

I am glad I wasn't present when Butch was cutting this off and cleaning it up.

The stock springs were worn out. As Butch mentioned it had shocks with the coil helpers. These things flat out sucked. It actually hurt to drive.

Not exactly sure what suspension is on it now. But it is an improvement. Gained about 3" in ride height.

I think it is Rough Country, isn't that the brand of the shocks?

Lookin good... Need to get back to work on mine

After a year and a half, I figure it is time to post some more pics. A hail storm beat this thing up pretty good. Good news is, that allowed me to proceed with the upgrades. Rust is always worse than it appears. Even on a clean cruiser. Since it needed to be repainted, might as well fix everything. As you know, one thing always leads to 10 others.

The two things that drove me crazy with this 40 were the rear bumper(which will be for sale soon), and the tire carrier. Those problems are now solved.

CCOT panels.

Details Unlimited. They do lots of custom work to Audi's. They are close to my house and were willing to allow me to do as much as I wanted to help control costs. I mainly disassembled everything and will be putting most of it back together. The easy stuff.

The top is going to stay off 100 percent of the time now that I have garage space for the 40. This tailgate is from a 63 fj45. Notice there were no footman loops. It is not going to drop down. Only being used to fill the gap. I am using the latches and hinges on the brackets to make it look original.

The painter got carried away and painted the stamped bezel blue.
