After a gleeful 8 years wrenching and enjoying my first FJ40, which I sold in December, I have my next project at home. Found it up in flagstaff. very original with a little rust, but everything is there. My first project was a restomod, I am leaning more towards preservation on this one.

May want to go with Factory steelies, I have the hub caps but now wheels. If anyone has 5 they want to get rid of please let me know.

Thanks I will keep you posted on progress. Here is my old FJ40, the new one

nice!

wow, looks like that old paint polished up well

You know that old saying
".... Youn Polish a turd all day long and you will end up with a shiny turd....."

I know I have one factory rim here somewhere... If the caps will fit '69 to '72 vintage.

Nice 40! Flagstaff, huh? You didn't buy it from a guy who sells 'cruisers for a living and his shop is really close to the railroad tracks at the right end of an industrial strip mall, I hope?

Nope guy at a body shop on 2000 w Kaibab. They bought it from family / friend in MT who owned it for ~ 35 years.

Saw lots of cool trucks on their site, but no other toyotas

Can't move too fast on the new 40 until I finish and sell this one ( VERY original '73 VW type 3 square

keep in mind you can order the OEM steel wheels from Toyota. I purchased mine from Camelback Toyota.
