New to me BJ74 with some questions

So I have done some shopping and work on the 74. New front indicator lenses. Bought new door rubbers for the front doors. Will fit once it has been repainted. Got new Land Cruiser badges for the fenders. Quite a few other small odds and ends.

Can someone perhaps confirm if the rear doors of the 74 and the 76 are the same. They sure do look the same. If so I can get all the rear rubbers locally.

I use these guys in South Africa. www.n14x4.co.za

I had a bit of luck. I got myself a decent FRP top from one of the Cruiser scrapyards. Bear in mind that the BJ74 was never sold in South Africa so they are very scarce. Apparently they aquired it from someone that just wanted to drive with the roof off. My FRP top has taken some abuse as the previous owner cut the front part so that it can be removed without removing the complete FRP.

Would an Airtec snorkel for a 75 series fit the BJ74?
Any paint recommendations for the FRP top?
How do I remove the FRP top? Any schematics? I have searched the forum.

Hi Scalpel, do you want a stipple/rough finish for your FRP or a smooth finish like your car panels?
You would have to use mainly a chemical clean up with minimal sanding if you want the factory texture.
Or you can sand, prime and apply a monster style ute liner, then top coat.
With the smooth option you would have to apply a 2k high build primer, sand smooth, repeat....top coat.
Hope this helps.

I looked for the original attachments I'd put on this thread. This will show you all the attachments.
The tricky one is the one at the end of the windshield frame, on top below the very corner of the top.
You need a 10 mm spanner in there, and small hands.
The FRP emblem on the side needs to be pried off with a thin scraper and a nut is under that too.

Weight of a bj74 frp top?

I just bought Maxxis Bighorn 255/85/16 tyres for the 74. These will go onto the 80 series steel rims. I will post pictures once done. Next step is body shop on Monday. These are the steel rims before they went in for powder coating.

Don't forget the spacers...

Thanks @Diesel42 I will locktite them. Once again thank you. Great quality.

Is it possible to fit the suspension seat bases in a 74 that did not have them as standard equipment?
