New TJM T13 Bumper Comin'

From what I understand TJM is trying to re-invest in the US market...

Your situation isn't helping their cause any, that's for sure. How frickin' hard is it to make sure that the bumper that has already been ordered and paid for (?) is in the container? Uh huh, really makes everyone else wanna do business with 'em. Hopefully they make this right for you, or it's a crappy start to a reinvigoration of their US presence.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::bang:

Sorry to hear Dennis. Are they ordering a new shipment or are you going to take the model they now have in stock?

Well, I went with TJM because I wanted the new style (2011 'Outback') bumper. It was both unique and allowed me to support a great local vendor (MetalTech). The previous T13 is a great bumper I'm sure, it's just not what I was hoping for.

Honestly, my ideal option would be to be the charter customer for a MT front bumper, but that's not in the cards for them right now.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frustrated by the process. It was ordered Oct 4th with the initial information that it had an ETA in LA of Oct 29th. Had I known then that we'd be looking at a January date I'd probably have gone with BIOR. Even if I were to cancel now, I'm not sure that anything else would beat it here by more than a couple of weeks.

In fairness to TJM, their sales director (Mike Crosby) has been prompt with his responses and forthcoming with information. Mistakes happen. It just would have been nice to have had it in hand during the TG break and to have had one more mod checked off the list. And it's not like they can make up for the error by throwing one on an airplane. I have no doubt that once they get their feet under them again in the states that Mike will support the business and they will be an attractive and viable competitor. It's just frustrating to be riding the crosscurrents of their growth. I just need to figure out if I'm going to stick with plan A or cut bait and maybe combine shipping from BIOR on F+R. That is unless Christo posts a Cyber Monday special that can't be beat. :)

Well, they CAN make it up to you as you suggest, but they WON'T....

Typos sent from my HTC EVO using the IH8MUD app...

I wouldn't throw TJM under the bus just yet. Mike Crosby has put forth exceptional effort in the customer service department. He has worked with me on issues that in all truthfulness, should be considered expired legacy support. TJM has great products and Mike is a very competent Director. Lets just hope that TJM AU recognizes their current business process gaps related to our market and adjusts according to Mike's guidance.

So is it just yours that they screwed up on, or the whole shippment of 100 series bumpers that they brought over are the old design?

I believe it was the entire shipment that was incorrect.

Sucky. I will agree that this is not the ideal start to their re-launch of US-market products...but I am still eager to see what they can bring to us once they get some of the growing pains ironed out.

I wouldn't mind picking one up if they put a LARGE discount on it since it is the old one. However, the new one is definitely much better looking.

Do you know if they sent over any other models like the T3 or T15?

I don't know what all they brought over. My guess is that Mike will chime in here at some point and can answer that.

I'm interested in this as well. I was hoping for the "outback" style as well from my local TJM dealer.. but heck if there's a fire sale on the older one I'd definitely take a look, will be watching the thread here.

And sorry to hear about the set back, Dennis..

Any word on your bumper yet?

be curious to hear an update on this thread. I'm in the market for a TJM front bumper as well, but stuff like what I'm reading here worries me.

The update is: still waiting. I hear good things come to those who wait.

yuck

I've been going back and forth with extreme and piratesoffroad about the TJM bumpers. TJM USA never returned my email. Extreme has been responsive and I'm on hold waiting for some pics of a new style black T13. They are suppose to be in stock, but I dunno.

I exchanged a few emails with Mike several months ago. He was very prompt, courteous and professional. I was very interested in this bumper....

Now I'm pretty disgusted with TJM. It seems their whole approach to the US market is half-a**ed. Either do it, and do it right, or go home.

I'm definitely not interested in doing business with a company that isn't customer service oriented. So far anyway, TJM seems to be "excuse oriented" and that doesn't bode well for them, or any of their customers, long term.

Was it ever determined which bumpers were actually shipped over here?

From what I understand they shipped the old style T13's. IIRC these are the ones that Slee had on clearance around Christmas time.

So they have been sold or they were just the same design?

It was the old style T13, the container that is due within a week has the newest updated T13 style. We should be having one sent to our shop hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
