New tires...AHC quit working

Two weekends ago I got a new set of 275 70 R18 BFG AT KO2's for my 2005 lx470. I love the tires, however since returning from the shop my AHC has quit working. It will not move into high or low, and the off light blinks constantly while driving. I do not have techstream but after doing some research here, I thought that cranking the torsion bars may alleviate some of the pressure on the system. This worked to no avail. The AHC fluid was replaced about 3 months ago. I would like to know where I stand with the system before deciding whether to proceed or scrap it and go with an OME setup. Have any of you had success with local independent shops when it comes to the AHC system? I would prefer not paying the dealer labor rates, but was unsure if they are where I should go to get a diagnosis. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the sensors, might have disconnected replacing the tires.

I'm putting my money on sensors as well. I bet they either got whacked or disconnected somehow.

A quick visual inspection of the three sensor linkages and wheel well harness’ may well reveal some physical damage caused by the tire shop, or it’s possible that a sensor was about to die a natural death and with the suspension being extended on the lift/jacks this pushed it over the edge.

Besides checking sensors...Check the fluid level in the AHC resevior (located in back passenger side of firewall. It should be between Min and Max line. If it's low on fluid for some reason, the Off light will blink also.

That's a clean looking 100 Series. One of the best years too.

How many miles?

Honestly, the dealer may be a good option to get an accurate/full diagnosis for $100 or so. At that point, take the info received and figure out if it's worth replacing the components to get it working or just converting it to conventional springs.

If it's a cheap fix, repair it and then start saving for a OME kit until it really fails!

This same thing happened to me today. Just got the car, 2006 LX, and during my test drives etc AHC was flawless. Worked fine until I went to tire shop to put on some KO2s.

Left shop then tried to raise the car - nothing. It would lower though. Then shut the car off and tried to raise again and it worked. Haven't tried again yet but that's what happened....

Non AHC tires fitted. No, only joking.I think it is already covered, allowing your wheels to droop on a ramp probably affected a sensor somewhere.

I literally had the same thing happen to me 3 days ago... I'm going to check sensors today and hopefully that's the case.

Was able to get time today, and turns out it was a sensor. All things AHC seem to be back in working order. For those that asked 219,571 miles, and thanks for the compliments. I have put in a good bit of time polishing the paint and cleaning the interior. Now time to POR15 the undercarriage before winter.
