I spoke with Sherpa today and asked them about their rack only utilizing 3 of the 4 mounting points and they said they are working on finalizing the 4th mounting bracket/hardware @teejnut , should be available within the next 2-3 months and will be compatible with the current Blanca rack. That was enough to convince me to go with this rack. Great customer service, nice to see that they continue to inovate and improve their product.
That's great to hear! Do you know if there will be a charge for it?

I am not 100% sure but I imagine a phone call letting them know you are an existing customer would be enough to get the extra feet. Either way i don’t think it would be more than $60 for them considering they already list the Blanca brackets on their website as a build your own rack option.

I guess there's no way to keep the part over the sun roof clear? I was hoping you wouldn't have to install the bars there but it looks like that's where the front most mount is.

Yes, the front-most mount places its crossbar over the rear 1/4 or maybe 1/3 of the sunroof. The crossbar forward of the front mount (not pictured here) has a lot of adjustability forward and aft, if used.

Ordered the rack and some of their accessories directly from Sherpa last week and was pleasantly surprised to see the package arrive in just a few days. I have been accustomed to lead times of weeks if not months for Land Cruiser goodies so early Christmas here.
Straightforward install process following their instructions and videos. They don’t currently have a video specific to the 200 so I watched their YouTube channel vids of the 100 series and lx470 which were helpful.
With the the factory rack off it was a good time and the only time I have been able to fully wash and wax the roof.

For those with the Sherpa rack for 2016+ models what is the height from roof to highest point on side rail? Specs say rail is 2.5" but not sure how high off roof the rail mounts. Thanks!

What bolts fit in the slots of the crossbars? M6 or M8. Someone mentioned that the crossbars are 1"x2" so I assume they take M6 bolts.

Nice! I do like how their rack has the crossbars mounted directly to the frame. I do think that is stronger. Uptop does the same.

Downside is then those crossbars are locked into that position.

The wind fairing looked big in their pics but on your rig looks great.

I always wanted to see the half fairing they have for light bar but haven’t seen one on a LC200

Nice rack! It was on my short list.

Just a heads up but their racks are 15% off for BF. Sale is active now and no coupon needed!!!

It looks like a lot of positive feedback on the Sherpa. Have you all continued to be happy with it? Any issues with leaks?

I've had mine since November 2023 and continue to be happy with it around the $800-$1300 range. I think it is better than the Prinsu, given it is thicker metal and the way the bars hold the load. No leaks here.

My only suggestions:

1. You'll really need to play with the forward/back location of the side rails, then the up/down of the front fairing to have it almost touching the roof. Otherwise there will be vibration. (Once you get it right, it will be great!)
2. You'll want the bulk majority of the weight (rooftop tent, etc...) from the front mounting point and back. The front part (towards the fairing) isn't as supported.

That being said, there are more premium racks out there if you move up to the $1800-$2000 range.

Have mine since August 2021, no leaks and still happy with it.

@mceagle555 is spot on with his assessment of the rack. Ive had mine for a couple years now. No leaks, i really like their mounting design and flexibility of being able to move the cross bars forward and aft.

I also wasn't happy with the amount of downward movement the rack experienced (with a heavy load) at the front of the side rails by the fairing. I contacted them about this and we discussed options. What I ended up doing was adding two of their adjustable mounting feet at the forward end of the rack and it solved these issues. I can now hang off the front of rack with zero movement.

A few questions on the Sherpa Blanca:

* I see the size is 95.5" x 50.5". Has anybody tried carrying full sheets of plywood or drywall on one of these racks? How hard is it to safely get it tied down? I'm tired of putting this stuff inside my truck, and can't get the rear tail gate closed.

* Can this rack be assembled and installed by one person?

* Any interference issues with the shark fin antenna?

Thanks!

Yes the rack can be installed by one person. Their youtube channel has some good install videos. I followed their 100 series video and it was helpful.

No issues with the shark fin antenna. The last cross bar ends just in front of it.

I don't see any concerns loading up full sheets on top. There are plenty of tie down points on the side rails to use.

If anyone is looking for a Sherpa Rack, I'm selling mine. Loved the rack, just realized I don't really need a full-size rack.

Located in Nashville, TN. Can meet within reasonable distance.

Very interested, if you'll ship.

Finally installing this rack today, after it's been sitting in my garage since last November. Kudos again to @mceagle555 for the quick sale and shipping, and the amazing job he did on the packing.

Based on @TLC2013 post above, I went ahead and ordered the adjustable feet kit from Sherpa, it arrived yesterday. I washed the truck yesterday, preparing to do a full polish and wax on the roof before it gets covered. I'm amazed at how much dirt and crud there is trapped under those rubber strips and the old feet, ugh. I have the OEM rack off now, had no trouble with the bolts and threaded inserts, you just have to go slow, alternate turning each bolt out ~1/8 turn at a time (use a wrench, NOT an impact driver). Eventually they will get beyond that blue thread sealant and spin right out freely.

So... I discovered that there are another set of threaded holes in the roof hiding under the rubber filler strips, presumably for the LX rack, which is shorter. Spacing of the holes from rear to front is (approx.) 0", 26", 52" (unused holes), and 66". It would seem that it would be a better support system if I used the 52" holes, skipped the 66" holes, then put the adjustable feet at the very front. This would make them evenly spaced at 26" apart. I think it would look better too.

Anybody done this?

UPDATE: Doesn't work. :frown:

When I installed the front bar in the LX forward location, the 3 bars are not in alignment, the front bar is about 1/2" too high. Can't install the side plates. I'm assuming there are different front brackets for the LX? Will probably call them on Monday.
