Long time 4 runner and GX 460 owner. Been following all of your great posts here and finally pulled the trigger. Found a great 2013 LC last wednesday the 17th with only 29,200 miles for $51,770 and traded in the GX. Smiling all the way back from Maryland to my family's place in Ohio. Visions of driving this back home to Iowa then to Colorado for my monthly skiing habit just kept me smiling. Yesterday the 21st, the vision comes to a very abrupt end.
Driving south on I-270 in the south suburbs of Cleveland on my way to take my girlfriend back to her home in Columbus. A big Uhaul truck in the left lane next to me, I'm in the right lane, decides to cross over the solid white line. Then the sadness starts. I'm laying on the horn and he pushes us into the concrete construction barrier. I bounce off of that, bounce back hitting the uhaul, he hits my rear end sending the crusier into a 180 degree spin. Now we are going backwards and the uhaul is pushing us head on. We hit the cables in the middle median and the uhaul tips over right on top of us. This all happened in a 50 mph constuction zone. Amazingly no one was injured or killed. Just sore. Uhaul driver admitted to being at fault and was cited. He said he was just following his wife in the car infront of him and failed to look over into the right lane.
Needless to say, I will be buying another cruiser. The police and paramedics said that the LC most likely saved us from serious injury/possible death. That thing is a tank but so sad seeing the pics. Very lucky everyone is safe and will continue my visions when I get the insurance check. Stay safe everyone!
