I got about 2000 miles of mixed driving types with the BP51 suspension now. I am sure glad I went with the BP51... It keeps amazing me everyday...
What compression and rebound setting do you have?

Finally figured out that mine was broken (couldn't adjust rebound). Drove fine, as far as I could tell in town, until I went camping back off of some forestry roads. Holy crap, I've never heard anything like that in my life. And yes, the shock was clearly malfunctioning: had no compression dampening and made a creak like an old barn door when you got out of the rig. Working with ARB on replacing it and finding out what happened.

Was a good weekend, despite limping around on 3 legs.

Do any of you know where I can download the install manual for the bp-51 with the suggested comp and rebound for stock LC ?
My shop threw the papers after they installed, going there tomorrow to lower the settings.
I can't seem to manage to do the rear myself as I barely fit under the truck. I'm a big dude.
I'm thinking of going with comp 2 Rebound 4 as I'm looking for max comfort.

Also... I posted the entire contents of the paperwork that comes with the BP-51 setup here... Scroll down in this thread and you will find photos of pages:
What have you done to your 200 Series this week?

Awesome Thanks.

Just got my replacement rear shock from ARB yesterday, so I am looking forward to getting back to tuning mine for our local forest roads.

It will be interesting to hear other's experiences. The relationship of load, shock settings, and which springs are being used to achieve the best ride (for a given condition) is certainly a bit of trial and error.

With the help of my jack I was able to change the setting, I noticed in the ARB documentation the rebound for the front is recommended higher than the back, so now I'm at comp1 rebound 6 for the front and comp 1 rebound 4 for the back, my LC is stock weight, no bumpers etc...
Man what a difference, that comfort is great and it just flies above corrugated trails like its a highway.
Loving it.

Thx for posting this. Makes me want to change my settings a bit.

It's worth fiddling with, if you lift one side of the truck, it's very easy to do the front you don't even have to move the wheel and the back is really easy to do as well.
For those who don't have those, here are the install sheets for the front and rear.
rebound is recommended 2 points higher in the front than the back most likely as there is more weight there.

Where were those PDF files posted? I looked all over...

No, I emailed ARB USA, and they send me those, must say ARB suck as far as online documentation.

So how are you guys deciding whether to increase or decrease your rebound dampening? I'm not sure I'm in the sweet spot yet.

I feel like it is pretty easy to figure out compression, but the rebound stuff is a little harder for me to feel.

For me it's seat of the pants and play with it until it feels just right.
Adjust, drive a couple of days on roads and trails than fine tune.

The basis is given by ARB with the load chart, from there it's a matter of trying.

Dear Sir,
Sorry if my English is not very good, I reside in Africa.
I received my OME BP51 to replace my Icon 3" on my 2010 FJ cruiser
It is noted that they are factory set to 20mm to match a lift of 30 / 40mm on road but for me it is as if that corresponds to 1.57 ".
I hope that I have not made a mistake of choice, can you confirm that we can increase the height of the ring to increase the height of the vehicle?
Or is it that I missed a translation?

On the Land Cruiser, ARB lift estimations are almost always smaller than the real amount of lift. Even 10mm on the rings gave more than 2" lift.

Ok, then it's better to ride as I received to see, plus in the back I have springs 3 "overland, if I can not adjust more the fj will stick nose

Bump... wanted to see how everyone likes there BP-51 setup?

Still happy with mine, slight tapping when uber cold.., goes away as they warm up. We have $15k worth of bypass shocks under the Canguro 200, they are also noisy when cold ;)
