Dkw3,

Can you tell us what size ko2's are pictured on your cruiser?

Thanks!

Markuson (forum nooooob) ;)
They are 285 KO2'S..

Still loving the BP51 suspension...

Thanks for responding re tire size. I asked what size KO2's because I plan to add your same suspension on an '08 200 I bought recently...but need new shoes BEFORE I can add the loft. So...the good news is I can fit those same 285/70r17 KO2's on rock warrior 17's even without lift...and will still be right with them post 51's.

Did you install the new 51 setup yourself? If not, may I ask what it cost to do the full install front and rear?

Also... Did you go with standard load? Or heavy? I ask because I plan to add front ARB bull bar with winch and rear with tire carrier...but can't do them all at once. So...the question is...will I be beat to death with heavies while I wait for front/rear bumpers, winch, tire and drawers?

Perhap you or others here can attest to the ride with heavy load suspension prior to added weight?

I had a fully built 100 series with ARB front, Slee rear bumper, tire and drawers, but did it all at the same time as list...so I'm in a quandary over whether I can go ahead with heavy load BEFORE the rest goes in/on.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share thoughts...

Cheers,

Markuson

I did the tires and wheels before the lift as well. It fit with no issues until I had the lift installed. I did not install the lift. I had Main Line Overland do the install. Here is a link to the install News & Events. They did a excellent job and will be installing my ARB bumper shortly. I went with the medium springs in the front and rear.. I have a custom drawer, frig and gear in the back and the medium springs ride amazing.. I am glad I did not go with the heavy springs for my application..

You are going to love the BP51 suspension.. The ability to taylor it to your load and the terrain is just amazing. It is a pleasure to drive..

I was lucky to be working at ARB Kilsyth a few years ago when these were in prototype stage. I had to source a few bits and pieces for them, but seeing them stripped down to their undies made you marvel at the quality and jewel-like precsion that went into all the bits for them. I must see if the 80 series version is out now for my truck, lol. Some of the bits in those are works of art, good job by the team. I'm sure they're not for everyone, but I'd have a set no questions.

Mine are still collecting dust... waiting for the last few build parts to arrive and then it is game on :D

Where did you buy them. I tried a few places and some parts are back ordered

I got mine from Cruiser Outfitters and they have some (mine) in stock ;)

I called Slee and had a long conversation. They have several sets in stock.
Unlike tires we have not had a lot of suspension comparisons likely because no one is willing to try multiple setups except idiots like me!

Tried most of them, many times, pulled them apart, changed them, if they were close, or could be improved, used different coils with many as well.

Also had afew brands custom made to suit our application.

Run them around the same test track.

As ARBs second go at resi shocks, but still small dia, its going to be interesting to see how they go with monotubes that work harder as they get hotter, compared to being a twin tube shock company with fade engineered at a set temp in the shock, to stop them working, and protect them, to make you slow down.

The front to go heavier coils, they seem to have tapered off the coil rate at full extension, to protect the 2.0 from topping out forces.

Im personally not a fan of restrictive hole closing adjusters for heavy cars, as the hydraulic forces spike at fast piston speed.

Great marketing though, especially on the bore size, vs piston ;)

And what have you found with all your testing. Don't see any 200 systems on your website.
Have you ever tested the Koni 90s and if so what springs did you pair them with??

Darren, I follow what you say on the Australian 200 series Facebook site. You seem very knowledgeable of the 200 platform. Glad to see that you frequent this board too.

Can you please drop a link her to that FB page?

Theres also one now specifically for the extended chassis twin cab versions so many are building.

Log into Facebook | Facebook

Back to normal programming...

What's the expense to build one of those?
