I have a set of newish OEM FJ40 springs on my fairly recently acquired 78FJ40. The PO told me they were recently put on and they still have the stenciled part number (48210-60120 on the rear) and remnants of a label on them so I'm inclined to believe him. They do have some surface rust from sitting out 1 winter (but not driven). He was in the end stages of an resto/update of the truck when I bought it. I drove the truck maybe 15 miles last summer before I parked in inside to begin a tranny swap and rear axle swap.)

I am now considering my spring options and the possibility of selling these OEM springs. I have a new set of 3" lift springs here that I am probably going to use instead. I'll know once I get these off the truck and can do comparison measurements.

So, my question is: is there anything special I should consider doing with these OEM springs? I think they are still available so they are not uber-rare. They look to be expensive new but not astronomically so...

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

If you have the room, save them for the future if you ever want to SOA or go back to stock springs.

naw, cause they will settle down once broken in and if nothing else you can have em de-arched or pull a leaf to they are softer ad sit a little lower when and if you go SOA.
