1300 dollars for the color and i did A LOT of prep myself. Black is much cheaper to get done 400 dollars cheaper to be exact. Its a lot but after it was done I think it was more than worth it. The pictures dont do it justice, it really looks amazing.

Another new guy

I just bought my FJ62 today (well, technically, yesterday as it's after midnight.

I'll post pictures tomorrow, but loved driving it home. I'll have a full inspection before driving it out to Colorado in 2 weeks.

Love the forum - gave me tons of good tips and things to look into before purchase. Thanks everyone seen and unseen.

Looks good ProwlerDriver - glad she ended up in your hands. Thanks again for the IPA sticker ; )

it's the northwest, there is 9 months of constant yard watering from mother nature coming!:bang:

Prowlerdriver I see you've removed the roof rack, I (cough cough) might know a local that might be interested in it (hint hint)

another new guy

I'm getting ready to pull the carpet from my 85' and have taken a few peaks. I am wondering about the "sound deadening" material. Is it the sub-carpet looking stuff that is glued to the tub or is it the patches of stuff that looks like it's welded to the tub? Hope that makes sense. Remember jestlurnin:)

The rack is only off for the winter so i can fit it in my garage to work on it. Otherwise my wife has to push the garage door up higher while i drive it in! Thanks for the offer though:beer:

the stuff that looks like its welded to the floor is the sound deadening. stick a screwdriver in it- its tar, just painted tar. Take dry ice and leave it on there for like 5 minutes, then go nuts with a hammer. It will all break apart and come off in huge chunks.

I am also (fairly) new around here. Congratulations on realizing J%@P is not the way to go. That is one good looking 60 already, nice buy. That is my favorite stock color, sadly I have a light blue 83 and I am about to acquire a silver 87.

I really like the AR black wheels , are they Teflon covered?

BTW thanks for the dry ice tip. I do not think I can afford the Rhino, but I wanna clean up the inside in order to install Dynamat... I wonder if it actually works better than Rhino as a sound deadener...

Good luck and keep posting pictures.

Prowler- would you happen to have a pic showing how the wheels and tire combo look fill the gap? A picture from either front to back or vice versa. I'm looking for a certain stance on my cruiser and yours has it pretty close.
I was actually driving to San Rafael on monday and i saw a cruiser with the perfect look that i'm looking for which is keeping the tires almost flush with the fender.

linex question

quick question about the prep you did for the linex. It looks like the spray went under the heater hoses/core under the dash. Did you completely disasemble the dash before you had the guys spray it?

Taking out everything on the interior of the truck doesn't seem like it would be tough but taking the dash apart seems like it would be a nightmare for a rookie.:D

Thanks for the dry ice tip, it works like a friggin charm!!!:)

I took the rear heater off (and was promptly showered in antifreeze:doh:) and the transmission plates came off to. I had them spray under all the heater stuff up front, but i didnt disassemble any of it. they just taped it off and put their nozzle under there. Like i said very clean job though, everything is in straight lines, even under the heater stuff up front. I did take blue tape and mark off where i wanted them to spray/not spray. I also told them not to fill any holes so i could get to all the body mounts if i needed.
