I'm a new owner of a '95 1/2 FZJ80 8) and find myself in need of some parts. Not fond of going to the stealer, where can I get parts, specifically a modulator for the EGR (P0401 ye haa! :-[) window track channels etc.

I've heard of the infamous CruiserDan... what, who where?
Thanks
Rocky

Welcome Rocky.. you already know more than you think you know, ya know? just click that orange message link in the upper right, then compose a new instant message to, you guessed it, CruiserDan.

For used parts, check out cruiserparts.net. Also try out that search button up top, you'll be surprised what's in there.. again, welcome.

thanks for the cruiserparts.net link.

Note on cruiserparts.net. I have used them extensively and have learned to order only the appropriate parts from them.

I would order only trim products or durable mechnicals from them.

I would NOT order wear and tear items from them.

Exhausts rust, belts break and crack, rubber tends to age poorly.

Get new, OEM parts on all wear and tear. If you have a major failure cruiserparts can and has hauled my coals out of the fire. They are also a nice way to provide stop gap parts while waiting for new (backorder, etc).

Just remember, grain of salt = used parts are not new.

Hmmm, I suppose that's possible........ :ban:

Dan, I think you need someone to take over your marketing.

I say first we start off with a new avatar. Something like "DON'T-B-STUPID..GET YOUR SH!T HERE". Then we hit'em with the free T-shirt campaign and maybe some #6 coozies. This ought to get business flowing good, so you won't be sitting around doing so much... loly-gag'n.

Just don't forget who got you there ;).

Thanks for the info folks. CruiserDan came to the rescue.

CruiserDan is the best, he saved me over $100 one the part I wanted to get from the Stealer. I am defientely giving him more of my future buisness.

What percent discount does Cruiser Dan give?

I beleive it's a sliding scale based on the level of Dog Chow.

Seriously!

Same here. I ordered a filler neck for my FJ60. The local guys said "not available". The other local guys said available but $$$. Dan said "no problem" and $$. More than $100 less on that part alone. At this minute I'm awaiting my 3rd order and I'm sure there will be many more in the future. Spend your parts $ with CDan and American Toyota-you will be very happy.

Wrench, I neither know nor care (therefore have never asked) what the exact discount is. I don't know much, but I do know that he always does the best he can and those prices are always better than what I can get elsewhere. I also know that he shows a genuine interest in helping us get exactly what we need (no extra things we don't need) the quickest he possibly can and with the best info he can.

I never view cheapest as the best. With Cdan, what I have found is that the best is also (unless it's a super high shipping cost which he gives a heads up on things like rims etc) the least expensive.

Wrench,

I don't know either but there are "discounts" and there are DISCOUNTS. We have seen many, many times where someone will post their dealer's list (or discounted) price and C-Dan will post the actual published list price from Toyota and we have discovered our dealers are using a list price escalator; adding 15-25%, then giving us a "discount" back to list +/-.

The best thing for you to do is get a price from your local dealer and PM C-Dan. If you're not a believer after a couple of purchases then you must be getting a smokin' deal from your local dealer.

Discount amount doesn't really matter. Fact is your getting your junk fixed and your gonna get the RIGHT part at a friendly price.

Dan is very knowledgable and has a ton of info on cruiser parts. Now if I could just get off my ass and quit working on my fawking house long enough to go fix my junk I would be ordering parts right now :flipoff2:
