If I had some extra money right now I would volunteer in a heartbeat! After the first of the year I would be in a much better position.

As far as suggestions, how about something like this? More protection around the lights without obscuring them. Also, I agree with more beef in front of the winch...

I like this suggestion for more protection that comes up to Hood (red limes). I have always thought of a design that would come up off the tow points, (One piece design) runs up to the hood line, across and then down to the other Tow point. Then use tubes to protect the lights.

I have a TJM bumper, and while the clearance is less than I'd like, the coverage is complete. What I don't like is how blocky it and the ARB look. However, both leave the headlights open for unobstructed beams. My TJM does, however, have a single light tab at the top crossbar that looks like it could be pushed back into the hood if I ever hit the front hard enough. So, don't do that.

I also like the idea of the upper bars curving back around the front of the nose such that their vertical connection to the bumper is on the side, next to the corner lights.

love the wings! Looking forward to what you do with the protection tubes. I think the higher bar will be necessary for the protection required for an expedition rig. Just try not to make it all squared out. I like the center section coming off the light section at the lower half at an angle. Quality recovery points should be overkill in line with the frame I think.
Keep building the dream!
EDIT. For clarity I want the recovery points to be beefier than you would think you ever need.

Really taking shape nicely Jason!

I owe you a phone call.

ya ... .forgot the 1... .1250".... Booger knows all bow before him. :flipoff2: And why is it you reply to this and not the others where I asked you a question???

Geez dude.

I dunno what you asked? Some of us have to 'goto' work and aren't on the internet 24/7...

Ya cuz I'm not working here... I spend my day watching Capt. Kangaroo and smoking cigarettes...

What do you think of the new design?

That's cool. I guess you build the bumpers in the afternoon. I quoted 'goto' work, as in you don't have to drive. Meant nothing more...

So what was your question?

I grew up in the Sierra nevadas, I don't bounce kangaroos off the front of my truck:D

This spring I will be the first 80 series to navigate the soup can obstacle @ the rubicon(that I know of). It has major flop potential, but it needs an fzj stamp of approval!

Well, I do have an LX! :flipoff2: What do you expect???

BTW, bumper looks great, the "mistake" adds a nice touch as well.
