New distributor questions (1 Viewer)

I'm getting ready to put a 79 distributor in my 74 40.The new cap for the 79 has two ports on top.I'm guessing I can just cap them off? Also,my old dist. has a Pertronix Ignitor and a Flame Thrower Coil.Can I use that coil with the new dist?

Im not sure about the ignitor. but the coil will work fine, I have a 79 dizzy in my 75 motor. Used a coil from Jegs for like 20 bucks. But I kept the OEM ignitor.
