I own a 1975 FJ40. And wish to make it diesel. Is it possible to get a new Toyota 4Runner Turbo Diesel Engine, looks like the 3B, to place inside my FJ.

The hilux motors will be a little underpowered for a 40.
The 3B is slow but lasts a long time, was never offered in the Hilux though.
Think more along the lines of a 13B-T, 12H-T, 1HZ or 1HD-T.

That is the link, I think it could fit, or should I stick to 2F engine. Also do you know where I can find a Fairey overdrive. We want to stick to Toyota motors.
You should throw down just a little more and get a 2h, 5 speed and t-case from SOR. That little 4runner diesel doesn't have the bottom end to haul a cruiser around for very long.

Can a 1PZ, 1HZ, 1HD, 13BT, or 1HDT fit in my FJ40?
Yes, any of those. Very good choices for a 40.
