FWIW I was using Turo to rent our spare vehicle, and a lady got in 2 fender benders in 2 days while using it dinging up both the front and rear bumpers. I used the Turo insurance coverage, and I told the body shop owner I wanted only OEM parts to be used. She showed me that aftermarket would have only saved about $100 to fully replace front and rear bumpers with all associated hardware and stuff, and that her labor costs might actually eat up the savings if it didn't fit right. She told the insurance company that and it was easy to get them to cover OEM parts. Back in the day I remember I had an XJ that I needed to replace a fender, and from the dealer it was something like $500 and an aftermarket one was $40. I was paying out of pocket and was in college, so I obviously bought the cheaper one. Nowadays it seems like the gap in cost between aftermarket and OEM has shrunk to the point it doesn't make a lot of sense to go aftermarket.
