I had no idea ARB had changed the design....mine are all the old type

I put both ARB's on the 60 and 62 myself....my back was better back then. On the 60 I put the 10K warn in after the ARB was installed.....it was a tight squeeze.....why I didnt take the bumper off I dont know?

Don't do what I did and put it on the highest setting. It looked goofy! I have since moved it back!

Could explain these setting? Was this on a FJ60 and a couple of heights you could mount it? I bought my ARB used from a guy who never had it off road and was in like new condition but I believe the old design. Only one way to mount it on my FJ62.

New style has three heights it can be mounted. Old style is one and done.

Correct the new style has three mounting holes. I ended up at the middle one.

The old style it was one and done.

Would this be on 60 series? If so how many positions on a FJ62 frame? While only one position on mine it does center the head lights between the top and middle bars.

new style does not have the middle bar.
they are one size fits all between the 60/2.

I know it's a one size fits all in the 6X series but thought the taller 62 frame would limit the mounting options. Didn't realize the design was that much different. My was advertised on mud around six years ago, it was local and a good price. Couldn't pass it up.

If they are separate mounting brackets then it makes sense. I thought I read at one point the ARB bull bar can in two versions (60 and 62). Then a only for the FJ62 with washers to fill the space. That may have been the old style.

The 62 frame horn are taller than 60. For the old style ARB they provided spacer for the 60 series and 62 should fit without them. I do have the spacer on my old style ARB.

This is the newer ARB. As you can see it is on a high setting.
Also doesn't have the middle bar. It came with big spacers for the FJ60 style frame.

I have a guy installing a new ARB front bumper on my 1984 FJ60. He said the headlight washers will need to be removed because they are right where the bumper will sit. Is this correct? I don't really want to lose the washers, but I don't want to hack up a new bumper either.

No problem with mine. Installed it about 6 years ago.

Agree and that’s why I mentioned I installed mine about 6 years ago. The OP’s bumper is definitely different than mine. I actually bought mine used about 6 years ago...so prob another 1 or 2 years older as I remember.

You might consider doing a test fit yourself to see if yours would fit or not. I installed mine myself...well, the wife helped me lift it up there...even with the 8274 on it.😱 It was heavy for sure, but at least on mine, it set on the frame very well and once we lifted it into place it wasn’t all that bad. Bought a bunch of grade 8 bolts and tightened her down. Not a big deal really.

I‘ve now got an engine hoist which makes removing/installing really easy. ‘Here comes Santa Clause’🎯

EDIT: Just to be more accurate, I checked some old pics, I installed my ARB bumper about 6 years ago, and updated my above posts. So the different style could make a difference.
