Picked up my first Landcruiser this weekend, it’s a creampuff for the Northeast. Can’t wait to get started w it, after a quick tune up, fix anything that needs it, then undercoat w rust prevention. I’m looking forward to any advice/suggestions towards a 2-3” suspension lift w/ 33-35” tires. Dobinsons, OME, Icon, Ironman, Slinky. My rig will be used mainly for weekend excursions, not a daily driver. The Cruiser has 237K on it, so is there anything I should pay extra attention to, seems to drive quite nicely down the tar.

Looks great! Welcome to the club, I'm pretty new to the 80 as well. Out of all my rigs, it is my favorite. I think Toyota hit the sweet spot. Tons of inf here....

My sig line reads like your wish list. LOL
Other than re-gearing causing a growl, it ran like a top w/ stock gears on 33's and a 3" lift for a couple years.
Welcome to MUD. :flipoff2:

Welcome to the addiction!

If that sucker is running original parts, all I see in that 80 is a $50-60K cash in cash out cash in cash out cash in cash out adventure. lol Gl.

Haha, can’t wait to get my braces off! Haven’t decided what to go w/ just yet. My work truck just got sprayed w/ Waxoyl, looks like good stuff but only time will tell. Also considering NH Oil I’ve heard good things about that. The problem is they all look good after they’re sprayed on, just not sure what they look like after a couple seasons of being salt/chloride blasted. They use some nasty crap up here, only the small towns use sand, or sand mixed w salt. The state and municipalities use the nasty s***.

Looks like you hit the jackpot! Before you do or buy anything, develop a clear articulated plan of what it is you want to achieve with the vehicle, and only then begin to tailor the vehicle accordingly.

Step 1, remove damage multiplier and running boards. Instant improvement 🍻

Removed the braces off the front bumper, looks like you were correct, it was covering a small dent on the fender. Also noticed this am rear defroster wasn’t working, fuse was good, replaced the relay cause I had one to try and still nothing. Tested 50 ohms of resistant between the two connections, I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be, and failed to check if I had peer there, got side tracked. Any ideas?

You need to check the ohms at each wire the goes across the glass. There's a procedure in the FSM and its relatively easy, other than bending over backward sitting on the tailgate, or crammed in the back sitting in front of the window. It will let you pinpoint the area of the break so you can "paint" in new wires.

This thread is amazing! Such a huge help for figuring out your path!

And congratulations!
