Hi from Scotland

Just found this forum and thought I'd join.
I've had my LJ78W for 3 yrs now and love it.
Did have to rebuild the engine, replace all the suspension, brakes, aircon, locking hub brushes etc etc but thats life!!!!

I am a LOYAL LC owner since 1987

Hi, I owned landcruisers since 1987 and started with a 1988 FJ62 which I still own. In-addition, I owned a 2000 FZJ79(Sold) and I own a 2002 FZJ74 and planning to buy a new 2007 or 2008 FZJ79 because I really like new 70 series look with that fender that look like my FJ62 fender.
Other 4X4s, 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport and 1988 GMC Jimmy (Both sold)

Hi all

Hi from NSW OZ. Just joined up. Was told about this site from a guy in the local Game Fishing Club. Said you guys were talking about my truck that someone had spotted on Ebay. I have just listed it on this site for sale. I am after a 100 series as a "family car". As the user name suggests I have a Big Blue HZJ75. Had the truck for about 3 years. Bought it stock and have built it up from there. Has just about every mod you can think of so it can still be registered to drive on our roads.
Will post pics when I get them downsized.
Cheers.

Happy to find you

Greetings from Zambia. learned about y'all from my wife's boss. I bought a 1991 70 series prado turbo diesel from japan last year and love it. It is 3 litre, 5 door, automatic with coil springs. Engine 1KZ Chasis KZJ78

Two questions to start:

Can someone help me with a copy of the owner's manual (not a repair manual)? this is my first 4 wheel drive and I am on a learning curve. There are still dashboard controls no one can explain to me here!

I spent three hours with my back right tire mostly submerged under water when I was recently stuck in a flood plain. It's rainy season here. Now I hear water swishing around when I drive. How can I drain the water?

Appreciate the help.

I love the hzj73, I have sold 2 of them. The 1HZ is the best engine going in my opinon. I have one in my current truck.

Regards, and glad to have you aboard.

Tapage,

many thanks for your advice. Yes, the water was drained from the cabin bed. Also, the diff oil and transfer case oils were changed to be safe.

Hi from Blenheim New Zealand Posted some info already on the 70 series V8 forum then found this, so thought I should add some info here as well.
Truckless at the moment, waiting for the new one. Had a 75 series, traded it on the new model which does not arrive for a month or 2 yet. Did not know that at the time of trading. Anyway have been 4 wheelin for 5 years, 4 in the 75 series. Just love the versatilty of a ute, (flatdeck, traytop) Have had a few utes but Mr Toyotas 75 series is by far the best.

A big welcome from Canada here too..... Cheers. Buy a new 79.. :)

Yep, the V8s on order. Was going to buy a 79, even ordered it and it arrived. Then what do you do? when the dealer says "you can have this or the new model" Since I am only going to buy a new truck once I may as well get the latest model I can!! The V8 it is. Have had a look at the specs they provided, virtually he same truck as the 79, same chassis running gear etc. Just has the V8, 151 kw and 430Nm torque. Its gotta be good. There was not a lot wrong with the HJ75, the 79 was better again, so I am working on the theory the V8 will be even better. I am sure Mr Toyota is aware of the reputaion of the 70 series world wide, and the 100 series which the new 200 will replace. It will share the same engine, just have twin turbos. Again its not a reputation Mr Toyota would want to tarnish.
Saw the earlier photos out of the middle east, looks like those trucks had no snorkel or bonnet scoop. What engine have they got in them? Any body know?

It seems some countries like the middle east and south africa will get the old engines for a while and dont need the scoop for the intercooler
