Stan @NCFJ would be my first choice! Good talking with you and let me know if you need anything else brother!

J

Thanks, J. . .much appreciated and same here. I'm excited to see where this goes. . .and nervous, hehe.

Good thoughts your way Shane. Hang in there brother. You'll have an amazing rig soon enough.

Good thoughts and a valium prescription are always welcome, lol. I've been waiting for this day for almost 3 years and SO EXCITED!

I've been thinking about your predicament from time to time.
Glad to hear you didn't get sucked down a sink hole or something.

Dude. . .let me tell you this - total test of both my patience and self-control. Between the sinister government officials and self-serving insurance labia folds, I came close to going MAD. A sink hole would've been a blessing, hehe. But. . .I learned how to cut with a chainsaw, operate a backhoe and excavator, and quelled my fear of spiders!

Sorry to hear about the house Shane....glad you haven't come to your senses! hope the worms turns soon for you brother.

K. . .much appreciated. The garage and garage apartment should be done in about 2-3 weeks - on our own dime (see my rant above about the insurance companies). Once completed, we'll move into the garage apartment and start work on the main house. Projected to be completed between Dec-Feb, D'oh! I might make a guest appearance on the 6pm news well before then, , ,hehe, grrrrr. . . .

Do I still have dibs on your old 2F, 5spd and TC , .... right ?

J

I'll PM you. The TC, I believe, will be part of the new build (6.2, either a 4 or 6 speed, matted to the Toyota TC). Breaks my heart to let the 2F go because of all the work I put into her - almost want to make it a garage bar table or something, lol. I'm booked solid at clinic until Friday. Let's chat over the weekend.

oh, crap... i've been through a fire, losses and insurance. long way to go. Wish you all the best, and let us know if we can help out!

Much appreciated - anger is my fuel, burning bridges provide light at night, and my poster of Obama standing next to Clinton serve as motivation, lol.

Hope all is well. . .

Shane

Looking forward to seeing the truck Shane. Having lived in the lower Keys for 10 years I went through several hurricanes. Working as an architect most of that time, I was involved with a great many projects after hurricanes. Insurance companies were the largest issue in most cases and the delays they caused for people that had lost everything was disgusting.

I had more than a few contact me directly and try to dictate what I could include in my plans. That did not go over well with me or my friends at the building and historical departments. The city then enforced the laws concerning bringing properties up to current code. The insurance companies went nuts.

Government after an emergency, don't get me started. One instance..............

Hurricane Georges, forget the year, anyway it sat just NW of mm13 on Rt 1 for 13 hours. Pretty much stationary. It was just shy of a CAT 3. In the aftermath FEMA's first response was to send a tractor trailer of ice to Key West. I was at mm 11 and we drove down to Key West to get some ice we heard about on the radio.

After showing ID to two National Guardsmen with full weapons, we drove to the place where the trailer was grabbed a couple bags each and went too do some things in town. An hour later we hear on the radio to only use that ice for coolers not drinks. ITS TAINTED AND PEOPLE ARE GETTING SICK

It did not improve much from there.

Went thru my parts room today. Made a LONG list of parts I'm going to put on the chopping block. Mostly NOS OEM parts.

Axle, hub, diff rebuild parts; front and rear brake rebuild parts; JimC carb & dizzy; ceramic coated headers, plenty of NOS engine parts that were powder costed & recently installed (<1000 miles on them), heater sub-assy, hard, stainless, & soft brake lines, water & fuel lines; backing plates, 70 series mirrors, OEM NOS headlight doors, turn & headlight switches, Milford cargo barrier, NOS steering wheel & clam shell, NOS Asian Hubs, OME Heavy+ suspension kit, front steering parts (drag links, ends, etc.), rebuilt steering box, power steering pump, brake booster, etc.

I'll put a list together with associated part numbers and prices over the next week or two. Parts I have with me will be mailed from NOLA. Parts that will be pulled off of the truck will be mailed from HFS 4x4 in SC.

Thanks-

Shane

I'll take the Jim C carb and Dizzy.

Done. 1 Million Dollars (imagine hair piece, pinky at corner of mouth, and circus midget to my right).

Is there anything you can do to prevent damage from the next flood?
Maybe raise the house? If the government is not deepening rivers and widening the flow capacity it will come back?

The house was raised 12.8 ft already: think of a perfect trifecta: Sabine basin north of us rec'd 36+ inches over 3 days, our area rec'd 20+ inches in 12 hours 3 days later. The lake had an exceptionally high tide during those 3-5 days. Spoke to FEMA about mitigation but said no bc no previously recorded flood. If it happens again, possibility. Spike to the SBA. We could make a loan to mitigate - over 100k to mitigate elevation. The main source of my rage is the government's flood parameters vs homeowners' parameter - huge f'n gap between the two and it's always someone else's f'n responsibility.

Good questions and lots of food for thought...

Glad to see your back on the air and BABA YAGA hasn't scared you from your plans. Will be waiting for your list to be put together. Take Care, Joe!
