Since the BFG MT KM2's have been out in the new sizes for a few months now, I'm wondering how you all are liking them.

I badly need to replace my BFG AT 31x10.50's. I'm going up to 33x10.50, and hoping my almost flat springs will hold up a while till I can afford an OME lift.

It's between the BFG AT's and the MT KM2's. I know there are other great tires out there, but it'll be one of these.

I don't care about some more road noise. I just don't want them really vibrating at 70 mph. A slight drop in mpg is okay, too, as long as I don't drop 5 mpg.

How are they in the mud, rain, snow, dirt, rocks, pavement? Any uneven wear, bad vibrations, etc.? Can I keep them at 40 psi on the street?

Anything you can add will help me out. I don't really need a comparison of the AT's vs. MT KM2's as much as I want to know how you like your KM2's. Thanks in advance.

me2.... would like to see any comments. I think SAM's carries these tires at a reasonable price (for what they are) in size 33*10.5*15.

I'm going to pick up some when I need new tires. 33X12.5 or a litle bump up to 35X12.5 :hhmm:

KM2's

I've read many threads on them and plan to run a set soon. No one I know personally is running them so....

slight hijack: I was in the Deep, dark hills of eastern Kentucky a few weekends ago :) great time of year in the DBNF

I bought a set recently. They are great!
I wish they had sipes, would help better when the temp dips into the -20C.
I do enjoy the heavy side-wall. I have destroyed all my other tires with side-wall gouges or belts causing bulges.

Thanks you all. Good info. Anybody else want to chime in?

Sam's Club has the best price I've found so far. Onlinetires.com has a great price, but with shipping and then getting them mounted somewhere, you're above Sam's.

[Wayne, definitely a great time of year in eastern Kentucky. I'm in Robinson Forest in Breathitt County, just a little ways from the Daniel Boone. Been meaning to hook up with the Bluegrass Cruisers for a while now. Will soon.]

My Dad runs BFG MT KM2's on his Jeep Unlimited X (with lift, lockers, the works) and he loves them. He was surprized at how quiet and smooth they were on the highway. The only thing is that snow is not for them. My Bridgestone Dueler AT's do better on the snow.

I recently put a set on my FZJ80. I havent wheeled them hard yet but from what i can tell, the rubber appears much more softer than the older KM1s i have on my FJ62. The road noise seems pretty comparable to my last set of Toyo Open Country MTs and they are a lot lighter. Not sure how much that helped much but just wanted to throw out what i knew. :D

Thanks, everyone. Looks like I'll be getting some early in the new year. I'll post up my impressions.

I'm also interested in getting a set of these. So far I have been price shopping:
All prices shipped.

Tire rack : 738.32
Online Tires: 703.80
Discount Tires: 911.65 (online price matching for 30 days)
Tire Easy: 836.50
Tire Savings: 752.48
Sams Club: 685.36 (special order, may include mounting?)

in my sig. i like them alot. they held me at the top of a clay rut pretty well. clean out well. grip well. road noise is fine for mts. didn't balance em, they roll fine on the highway at about 75mph.

I like that Sams Club price, which includes lifetime rotation and balancing. It looks like mounting is 9.50/tire. I called, and special order means they'll be there within 5 days, but they're not in stock (at least in Lexington, KY).

Kevin, good info, thanks. I was hoping at 75 they wouldn't hurt my ears. Just got a 5 speed, and I'm finally enjoying keeping up with traffic.

what size tire we talking?

the first post says 33x10.5x15...that's what I'm interested in. Those prices are with shipping...to Cincinnati.

Any other quotes from other sources?

I went with online tires for my at's last winter. That was the best price I was able to find. But, keep in mind mounting and balancing price at a shop.

KM2 35's are on national backorder.... ordered from online tires (they sent me 33's... ya know; because if he ordered 35's and we dont' have them, then he'll take 33's ) then they wanted me to wait two weeks for credit once fedex picked them up, I told them that was unacceptable, it was not my mistake... still no credit. Called each day after to talk to someone else and finally, after following up multiple times and lotsa time on hold, I got credit. Careful with 3rd party distributers... that place is three guys in an office in CA.

I heard from discount tires, on line tires, and others that 35's are over 8 weeks out with no ETA from the manufacturer.

I ordered 35" Hankook Dynapro MT (needed a compromise tire for sure). 6 ply sidewall, measures 34.8". BFG KM2 stated to features a 3-ply TriGuard carcass... is that the same as ply rating?

Sorry to hijack and rant a little but I was considering these two....
