Well since my rear tire got slashed and my tires are due for change I am looking to get some BFGs. Where would be the best place to pick up a set of 305 or 315 AT BFGs? I am calling around as we speak but just curious if anyone out there has c ome accross a good deal recently. I have Sams Club, Costco, 4WheelParts, Americas Tire, Big O Tires, and other tire shops available. Please let me know where u got the best deal on your tires.

Thanks

I use Costco because of their excellent and cheap road hazard. You may have to wait for them at Costco though. Ours usually takes a week to 10 days on the odd sizes they don't stock.

i've used www.tirerack.com and www.etires.com before. both are good operations.

it looks like tirerack is a bunch cheaper for those BFGs, though.

Sams won't mount them for you though, bet Costco won't either. No tires larger than stock mounted, here anyway.

Just sold my 315's AT's.

I have heard Costco will not sell or mount other than OEM sized tires. I have had good luck with service and pricing from America's Tire Co.

Well the Costco here in Sterling, VA.. mounted some kumhos that i bought from tirerack onto my civic....even though they were 205/50/15 not the stock size of 195/55/15...they did swear a few times, but none the less got them on....only thing is that if i get a flat, no luck for me..since i have to send them to tirerack or somewhere that works with them......

Only thing with costco, its freaking cash $$$ and paying that much for some tires is alot for me....only have one cc Mastercard...

Costco takes AMEX too. Apply for AMEX?

Costco ONLY accepts AMEX. They dumped Discover several years ago in favor of AMEX. Try getting a Costco AMEX. You get points/credit/cash back of a couple percent on all your purchases as well. As you are a Costo member, that's probably your best bet, assuming you want another credit card. Lots of folks don't. It's an option to consider.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I ended up going w/ Americas Tire Co. Got a set of 5 BFGs 315/75/16 AT KO for $1000 exactly. Going to go back after next pay period to get their free replacement program. Thought it would be worth it to get. Will post pics soon!

Oh, just FYI I really really really love these tires. I will post my Michellins I had since original and how the rig looks now w/ the new rubbers. Pics soon to come if I can do it right.

P.S. Thanks CDan for your quick call back.

Looking forward to your pics. I'm still thinking. Don't like that the BFG AT's only come in raised white lettering in the 285's. Easy to grind or use solvent to get rid of the white lettering?

Mount them with the white letters inside.

Yeah, without a doubt, before grinding on your new expensive tires, just put the lettering in.

So no need to mount directionally? Some tires are that way is the only reason for the questions.

you guys are so square! Don't squash Brent's artistic aspirations...
:D

No problema with BFG A/T and directionality. (Is that a new word?)

Artistic my arse. hehehe Don't have an artistic bone in my body. Just a greas distain for raised white lettering on MY cruiser. IMHO fugly!

Will have to contact Webster's on the new word tho. HA

Hopefully this works. Sorry not use to posting pics up.

Included are 1. Before New Tires w/ OME Lift 2" I believe; and 2. After w/ 315s. Will post more pics as I get use to this.

Hood open - old?

Left pic - new, right pic - old? Kinda looks that way.

you'd think...

Darn, it sure makes a big difference. So it's either 285 and stock or lift with 315+, no in-between combinations. Sheesh.
