need a winch mount (1 Viewer)

After searching and finding little to none:

We need some leads on purchasing or fabbing a winch mount for a '72 FJ40.

Winch is an 8,000 lb Ramsey coming off a receiver hitch mount and we want to mount it permanently to frame rails behind bumper and above Saginaw steering plumbing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Youe basic $30 harbor freight winch mount tray would do the job as long as the Saginaw box doesn't extend above the frame rails. If it does, you would have to add spacers for clearance.

If its an RE8000 it'll be a different mount.

Hi All:

This type of basic winch mount has been around for years, made by various places. No reason a good welding shop could not fab one up for your rig.

I bought one from HF about 9 months ago, but it looks like it is no longer available there. Lots of people, like Smitty sell the same tray for more money.
