Another vote for Scosche Magnetic. I have one that is suction cupped to the dash and my iPad Mini is perfectly positioned above the stereo, in line-of-sight and doesn't block any forward view (unless I really want to stare at the hood). I love the mount. I've used when aggressively off-roading and have not had the iPad come off once. The reasons I like the dash mount are: suction cup attachment leaves 0 damage to the dash AND I can still put in the reflective solar screen for the windshield when parked (VERY important during TX summers to keep the sun from damaging the interior).....window mount options don't allow for that without removing the holder.

RAM mounts all the way

I use them for my tablet holder and phone holder. The phone mount is on a suction mount and the tablet on a seat bolt flexible mount.
Both are x-grips

On my bike y just swap to the bar mount with the x-grip

Omaker 3-in-1 from Amazon. Gives you 3 mounts....a stubby, an extended and vent.

I used to use a magnetic, until I picked up a Red iPhone. I wanted a clear case to show the red so that meant the magnetic mount was out for me as it requires you to place a metal piece inside your case. That wouldn't fly for the new iPhone in a clear case so i switched to a standard mount and the Omaker is just fine.

**On a side note, for those of you that are using a magnetic mount, please please wrap the thin piece of metal in some packing tape before you place it inside your phone case! Save yourself the heartache like mine of that thing scratching up the back of your phone!**

If you want sturdy, RAM mount is the only option, IMO. I have used a handful of different mounts over the last few years and nothing else even comes close.

I have one of the suction cups and one of the adhesive mounts and can't recommend them enough. The only downside is that they do not look very sleek. They are all business and no flash. That's fine by me, but some people (my wife included) don't love the aesthetics. They're commonly used in military applications and they look the part.
