So the original motor had a head gasket leak so I put in a used motor. It now seems to have developed a issue, maybe the beginning of a head gasket leak but nothing in the oil. I have 3rd complete used motor but I'd rather just build a new one.

I have two questions...

Does anyone have a machine shop they trust to do the work? Or, would anyone be interested in taking all three motors in trade and helping me build one complete new motor?

Let me know

Craig,
I would like to help you but I honestly just don't have the time right now. Any reputable machine shop close to you should be able to ream the wrist pin bushings, and check head/block for flatness. The rest is just checking clearances and assembling. I would take the head to Noland's Head downtown, but there are plenty of other machine shops that can do the head work as well. It's not worth messing with the head yourself, a machine shop will have all the tools necessary. The same head shop you use can probably do your wrist pins as well. The FSM has step by step instructions with all the specs, if you wanted to tackle it yourself. Master rebuild kits can be purchased from http://www.engnbldr.com/.

Happy to help walk you through it as questions arise if you decide to tackle it. This post has a TON of pictures and is a great reference.

Head work locally is Nolands.

Rob recommended to me CARQUEST shop at 89th and troost. I went with my 1fz, and was really happy with Ted's work. Machine shop for any block work.

3.4 time. :)

Been real happy with Ted, only thing he doesn't do is cracked heads. Last time I saw him he asked me to build him some custom headers later this year.

Hey guys I'm working on a 22re motor out of a 90s I was seeing if anyone can give me a torque spec on the main bearings. Anything would help thanks

Anything I need to look for to see if the motor is still good or not?

Vee Village at 18th & oak does great machine work.. been doing it since the 60's.. Dennis welds up & repairs cracked and damage aluminum heads. Had my 2LT toyota diesel head rebuilt there, and the block bored & Honed, tolerances checked on internals, cleaned, etc. competitive prices.
