Any recs for proper/knowledgeable 100 series windshield replacement in Kansas City area? Closer to Lenexa the better but happy to travel for the right shop.

I saved this for when I think about replacing my windshield. Double check them though, usually it's one guy with the knowledge and when they leave their experience goes.

These guys refused to do my 80 because they insisted they know more than Toyota. (and I'm picky about the install and following instructions.

So, I did mine a little different.
1. I purchased the rivets, dams, small trim pieces, and spacers from Toyota. (Super cheap)
2. I removed my 2 major trim pieces so I could reuse, and they would not be damaged. I drilled out the rivets so the installer would not accidentally over size the holes.
3. I printed off the page of the FSM to give to the Safelite person so they could properly install the dams and spacers.
4. I had Safelite come and simply install the windshield.
5. I reinstalled all the trim using. No leaks and they did a fine job.

I live in Olathe.

Talked to Kruger today. Odessey (?) is the manager at the OP location; I played a little dumb and she was able to describe the process and also noted her appreciated for LC owners and the vehicles themselves. Definitely boosted my confidence in going there.

She did recommend bringing new trim pieces as in some cases old ones can get damaged and it’s generally easier for the techs to work with new ones.

Will be scheduling with them asap.

Good luck!

Please post your results after any major rains or car washes.

So today I had a windshield put in my 2011 Pathfinder by Safelite. The young man did a great job. I always ask the techs about replacing windshields on the 100 series. He told me that the Safelite facility on 119th and Renner is where you should have them done. They have Master Techs that specialize in more advanced windshield jobs and they warranty the install 100%. He said book your install at the Safelite facility and request a Master Tech. You can consult ahead of time to make sure they do everything by the book.

Invictus came out and replaced the windshield in my 80. Very professional team and detail-oriented. I pulled the old one myself and repaired a tiny spot of rust myself, so I didn't have to take it to a shop or have them make two trips.
