Doing an engine swap to a mercedes 606 an want to get the tank out of the cab. Need your help guys who makes/ fabs rear tanks. Up front TNX for your time in this matter.

Morning,
I went with an old Con-ferr tank style setup for the FJ40 in my 45. Mounted behind the rear shock mount, flush with the top of the frame and ran the fuel lines down the inside of the passenger frame rail. It took some time to configure, but it will be well worth it in the end. BTB sells a similar kit.

I did the same tank in my 45

@orangefj45 Georg sells a nice unit that mounts in front of the rear axle. This unit allows you to keep the spare tire mount.

You can look here. They have some universal tanks that may work.

What are you guys doing for the filler? Inside the fender well or cutting into the bed?

I cut into the bed right behind the passenger wheel opening.

I looked into a second tank for my 45 shortly after getting it many years ago.
I searched MUD and found that someone had installed the gas tank from an early S-10 pickup under the bed in front of the axle.

I'm not sure a search today would easily get you that thread, what with there being 50,000,000 posts on MUD.

95 ? S-10 pickup was too long if I recall.
S-10 blazer was needed someone said I think.

When I did my 63, my friend who was a aluminum boat builder helped me out on a tank. This one holds 30 gallons and tucks up pretty good. It rides in a skid plate and has straps above. I used the factory Tacoma intank fuel pump to feed my 5VZFE.

In 2013 I found this boat tank on craigslist. After a few Road trips to Texas and Iowa I needed more range if I was going to make it Cross Country. Worked out really well since the float was already 12volt it was easy to hook up a servo to switch tanks and use the factory fuel gauge for both tanks.

This is how I chose to put the filler neck in. Just didn't want to cut the bed.

Nice tank that is what I was thinking of who made it.

Parker Garrett did and I'm more than thankful that that man had a touch on my vehicle. Unfortunately he passed away way too young in his 30s but you could build a tank like it with a good aluminum fabricator.
