Awsomeness.
Showroom new 40 year old Cruiser.
Hey, is she smiling because of the mint 40 or because it's FINALLY DONE?

Haha... Thanks Cleg! She is indeed smiling for both reason! She loves the 40 AND has been very patient regarding all the time spent in the garage.

I need to follow up with you on exhaust. I am definitely going back to a stock manifold and the rest.

Looking for a manifold now...

Can't believe nobody has busted my chops about the tailpipe... Just didn't have the time to decide what I was doing, and that's what came on it in 1988. So I bolted it on.
Plan to go back to the stock manifold and exhaust pipe. The header runs WAY to hot!

Anyone have one for a 3/72?

Thank-you, much appreciated!

Long Beach Toyota Fest tomorrow. Didn't finish the jump seats in time, and I haven't made half doors yet. But she's going anyway!

Section C1, Space 334...

Finally the pay off! Awesome! Good luck with the car show crowd.

Beautiful rig.:) If it were not for the lack of "time, tools and talent" I would try a restore myself.

My 3/72 FJ40 did well at the ToyotaFest Car Show in Long Beach, CA today.

Here is how she did:

450 entries...

-1st Place LandCruiser/SUV

-1st Place Best Restoration

-Best in show.

I was truly amazed, grateful and thankful, and honored with the recognition. I had no idea and no expectations.

I will post pics of the day tomorrow, but I'm beat tonight.

Yes I know the pic is sideways. To tired to deal with it.

Thank-you for the well wishes everyone.

First place! Best in Show! Wow, that is pretty sweet after all the hard work

Oh, BTW, I did notice the huge double chrome tail pipe, but you did such an amazing job on the rest of the restoration, I figured it was just a matter of time before you went back to stock on that as well ;)
