The personal satisfaction of a job well done is nice but the formal recognition has got to be sweet.

Thanks Cleg! The formal recognition was really gratifying. I didn't build it as a show 40, just wanted to do the best job I could, in hopes of preserving and giving new life to my trusted old college ride. I pulled it out of the garage on its own power on Friday and drove it around the block a few times, then off to the show on Saturday. So the show was the first public setting, and the response was overwhelming.

This summer she will be a Sunday beach Cruiser, with wife, dog, and a picnic basket.

Congrats on the show awards! I had no idea there would be so many 40's there. I will try and make it up for the show next year with mine, although it's no show rig for sure.

Did the best I can with what I could find here and there... I got lucky to find it with a nearly new engine ... But my friend , your work is out of space... Like out of the factory... You can be proud... I had never seen such a fine resto on an 4 Series

I know what you mean about what you can find. Ih8mud was a valuable source. I found bits and pieces all over the country. Thank you once again for your kind words. Here is an update. Hard top is next.
