'Mysterious' electrical connector disconnected..

Anyone any ideas on what this does and is supposed to be hooked up to??

On passenger side - front wheel well!

I can tell you it should not be hanging in the wheel well. No idea what it is, but I would secure it up, make note of it if anything is not working, and go along with your day. The 80s have MANY unused pigtails around the truck that were for either optional equipment or items not offered in North America, but still included on the wiring harness. If nothing is messed up don't stress over it.

Is that for the power antenna? I did away with mine so cannot confirm.

Maybe unused for the JDM side marker lights? Is there a similar plug on the other side of the engine bay that is taped back onto the harness?

Having a new set of JDM marker lights it was determined there is no plug in wiring in our USA harness for marker lights. If you do find wiring for marker lights do PM me.

As for the hanging plug in the OP picture I am no help

Power Antenna wire. But it shouldn't be there, it should be up in the fender I think.
Washer pump is blue wires, but has a black connector.

Thanks guy that's it - was out camping and saw it so thought I'd post - now I remember the po saying he bypassed the original power antenna for some reason......
