whoa you're bumper looks really clean! Loving it. You think the bar-work will hold up against zombies?

Uhhh! Zombies? if I'm crashing into Zombies I'm going to have big problems. I'm sure it would take out a deer and survive. An elk or a moose and I'm going to be in trouble. Cows would screw it up pretty well too. I can't remember the thickness of the tubing but it is pretty stout.

To be honest, on a large impact I would hope it would cave in at least some. If it doesn't absorb some of the energy it has to go somewhere. A friend of mine was hit by an F350 at an intersection a few weeks ago. It destroyed his ARB. However he and his wife were happy about how it protected them and the first mod to their new to them 100 will probably be a front bumper. This is designed for low speed impacts or impacts with small objects. Colliding with a big object like a big truck, cow, moose, elk etc... is going to damage it, but hopefully it slows it down some. I don't think there is a bumper out there that can take those types of impacts and I certainly wouldn't want one on my truck if there was.

That bumper is some very nice work and looks great. Do you mind sharing the costs associated with a custom bumper like that? What was the total build time?

Hey gerneric...if it's not a winch bumper will it be less jutting out from the front....would you mind posting a picture taken from above the bumper...thanks..

Here's a shot of Henry's (same bumper, different bar work).

It is a winch bumper. I'm not sure I have any photos of it from above. It sticks out about the same as a stock bumper. It is quite a bit less than the TJM. I've never put a tape to an ARB so I couldn't compare it. Going without a winch really wouldn't compact the bumper much more and still have the angle coming off the bottom edge of the frame. You could go straight up but I don't think it would be too appealing.

thanks for the picture...that's a cool truck
Wonder whether they can do a non winch bumper way too thinner...from the picture I can say it's about 10-12" thick(front to back)...is that about right?

I guess you beat me ...

Eric, sometime when you get a chance, can you take a side angle picture of your bumper, with the entire vehicle in the pic?

I'll take some decent non-shadow pictures as soon as I get it out of the garage (broke front diff). It is pressed so tight up against my project FJ68 I can't get a picture.

I did look at it tonight and it could be narrowed up 2-3" if it didn't have a winch. Anything is possible when you sit down with the fabricator and discuss your needs. That is what I did and I got what I wanted. Although I wish I would have went with bigger lights like Exiled did.

Arb sticks out something like 9 inches or so. It's about the same as when I had a stock bumper and a brushguard(without the headlight parts).

Now THAT is a sweet bumper! Anyone know if this guy (Henry?) is making any more? I love the bar work on it. That taco rear bumper is pretty savage, too. Wish someone was making those for the 100s

Vorfab made them. It is one man fabrication shop in Mountain Home, Idaho. vorfab@clearwire.net He'll build anything you want, everything is a custom one off for your vehicle. All it takes is time and money. Every time I look at the Taco rear bumper I get wild ideas of getting rid of my Slee rear bumper. What is keeping me from doing it is $$ and I have a perfectly functional rear bumper. I'm going to have Vic help me with some bumper for my 60/80 project. I can weld, and I have design ideas, but he's got talent and skills. Plus he has better tools and patience. I like working with him, he's local for me. You can see more of his bumpers on the 08 Taco in the March/April 2009 4wd Toyota Owner magazine.

When reading through your thread, I assumed Vorfab was going to try and do a small production run since he took templates of all the parts and made an extra one. Gotta help out the local guys!

That Taco rear bumper is pretty sweet. From the one pic, it seems very similar to the Slee rear bumper only differences being that the tire swing is on the LH side, it's offset - maybe to gain visibility out the back window and shorter swingarm, and he has some hoops for quarter panel protection - which seems like a necessity to me. Put some grip tape on top and they also seem like a good place to step on when messing with stuff on roof rack. If I had a Slee rear bumper, I'd definitely add some hoops on it.
