Drew,

Do you still want those photos of my kitchen. The snow is gone and the trailer is out.

Sounds like you have a good plan in mind. Let me know if you want the snaps.

TF

If you could, I think a few detail shots would really help me out. Do you still have my email to send them to?

Thanks mate!

Drew

hi great build you have ...inspiring me to do something like that one day for my newly brought cruiser lj78
please post the progress of the kitchen and the heater build.

!!

WOW i have just spent the last 5 hours  just on this thread alone !!:hillbilly:
Great work from start to well not yet done just waiting on that kitchen. Really looking forward to seeing everything working together and cant wait to start something like this on my own! but i have no skill at welding and well everything ! so thanks for all the great ideas!

Awesome!

Drew,

Very inspiring work! I have spent a good portion of my extra time over the last week reading this build thread from start to finish. Very nice work!:clap::clap:

Would love to see any pics of what you've been working on since your last update.

Also, I tried to PM about some other questions that I had but your inbox is full!:D So I left my question on your home wall here on 'Mud...

I started on a small trailer, however, it isn't turning out like this oone. It was my first build and I really enjoyed it. I have drawn another design to build one bigger and better than the first. Great build Drew. Very inspiring. Did you finish the build out?

Marshall

How did the kitchen come out?

I have been working on the trailer again. I am getting it buttoned up. I will post up pics and the process once it is done. I am knee deep in wiring all the gizmo's and doo-daads. I will have some stuff by weeks end I am sure.

The kitchen is on my short list for the end of this month. I have to finish this thing 100% before august and my second babies arrival! :D :bounce:

I am taking a week off in July to crank on the cruiser and trailer and get some much needed projects done for a Utah/Moab/White Rim trip I have planned this fall. Should be fun.

Drew, looking forward to the kitchen build. Maybe i can get some ideas to use on my own. White rim trail aught to be a fun one!

Clearly this is not your first baby if you are planning a trip for right after it's born. :)

(Dawn has already let me know she'll greet me with firearms if I take off right after ours shows up!)

Can't wait to see the kitchen ideas come to life!

I actually left the hopsital early when wife was in labor to go buy our first FJ40 :)

(BRACES FOR SLAPS!)

The dude was 5 mins away from the hospital - and if I didn't show up asap he would have sold it out from under me.

Wife still hasn't gotten over it....but my son (and daughter now) both love wheelin in the FJ40!!

White Rim will be awesome, i am the chuck wagon for a few friends mountain biking the trail. Cool thing is I get to run it pseudo alone, and have my friends show up at the end of each day.

Nope, I have about 3 months between birth and the trip... then I go elk hunting right after that, after that my hall pass will be pulled for a few months ;)

I love it, you know you are a cruiser head when...

So, I have been using the trailer a lot over the past few years and I never did get around to finishing all the little details that will make it more comfortable. First things first, I didn't hook up all my electric and plumbing, so that is first on the list.

Today I knocked out the 2 bank charger and system.

Here are a few before shots. You can see how I have a little bit of rust creeping in the corners... its really nothing, but I did use the trailer in rain for about the first half dozen outtings

I added a few LED lights to the lids of the trailer boxes... these are pretty nice for the $8 bucks they cost.

and I gotta' represent the TLCA... or at least the logo plates I could find ;)

One issue I had to tackle was the front box was too close to the main box to just bolt the battery charger to. The bolt heads would have rubbed the paint off the main box and that is IF I COULD have made them fit. There was only about 1/8" gap. It looks nice but I didn't figure on this before I bolted the boxes up.

So, it was a nutsert to the rescue. Four 10-24 threaded nutserts later I had a nice (nearly flush) mounting point for the 2 bank charger.

Super tight gap...

Drilled and mounted nutserts with a close-up...

I cut down the power cord to the charger to fit the marine outlet I installed in the front box. It was very straight forward, cut, strip, and screw it down. It came with a nice rubber boot that is slid over the connection point for a clean install.

and my favorite garage tool, that seems to find a way to get used on every project ;)

Get everything bolted up and started to tackle the wire and batteries. From here I will install the Bluesea fuse block and switches and begin the major accessory wiring job, that I have put off for nearly two years ;)

I wired up the main battery wires for the dual setup... they came out nice I think.
