Lined My Storage System
I picked up some Al's Liner from a local mudder, 80BajaBound, after he used it to coat his wheels. Thanks Mike!
So when I got home from work today, I draped some visqueen and made a little paint booth. Got everything masked up. read the mixing ratios, mixed a 1 quart batch, ad went to town. Lucky for me I spent 20 years in the drywall business so I am very familiar with a hopper and orangepeel texture. I am glad this can be applied that way. So, 1 1/2 hr later, here I am with the results. I will put everything together tomorrow with more pictures but here is tonight's progress.

The completed drawer system looks really good. I really like the finish. I'm a little concerned about how the top is secured considering the heavy duty tie downs you are using. A suggestion to the next builder would be to trim down the legs of the U-clamp instead of cutting the wood to secure the latches.

No need to be concerned about being secured as I have to wait until I have access to a welder before I can complete my structural attachment to the the third row seat brackets on either side. My idea is to weld some angle iron to the seat bracket running from front to back between the cargo tie-downs. The outer 2 of the 4 bolts on the tie-downs will be through bolted to the angle.
Great work, that looks really good. I am going to try and take on this project this summer. I like the idea of using Al's I have no experience with it but it looks like it turned out good and I am sure it would be a little less expensive then taking it to a Rhino liner dealer.

99% Complete
Well, after the coat of Al's Liner cured, I noticed that there was about 95% coverage and you could see the wood through the liner. Had I known, I would have primed the wood black like the areas that did not get liner. So I had to apply another coat to get full coverage. Since I had another batch mixed, I went ahead and sprayed the inside of the drawers. Other than the structural attachment of the cargo tie-downs and the hinges for my side compartments, this drawer system is done! When I was at Lowes I saw some velco storage straps that gave me a great idea - use them to secure my CO2 bottle in the drawer. Here are a few more pictures of the progress:

I'm glad the Al's worked out for you. It's very different than paint in the way it builds up on itself and creates dimples. I guess the key is to go slow?? Anyway - those drawers look great! Now you can load them full of gear, lose 1.5" of lift in the rear and swap rear springs along with me!
