I just picked it up. 2013 CPO lease turn in, with 27k miles.

Did it replace another land cruiser ?

It replaced my 2003 4Runner Limited V8. After 161k, it was becoming a money pit. I test drove a 2016 4Runner, but I just didn't like the drivetrain. I test drove a GX 460 a few times, but it is significantly smaller inside than my old '03, and I found the seats to be uncomfortable.

Then I found that I could pick up this LC for just a few thousand more than a new GX 460 Premium, which wouldn't have radar cruise or surround view cameras, etc.

So I decided to purchase Moby.

Congrats! I pick up my 2013 LC on Friday. Cant wait

I used to think 4 runners are bulletproof

Either way welcome to LC family !

Mine suffered greatly from rust. Toyota paid for most of the cost of replacing the frame last December, but I also had to replace rusted out lines to the transmission radiator. Then last month I had a $2500 bill to replace the steering intermediate shaft (rusted u-joint on the shaft), rusted power steering lines, rusted support brackets for left running board, torn CV boot, etc.

I was anticipating more repairs soon and I was tired of being in the shop every other month. I had spent more in repairs in the last year than the truck was worth, so I was spending good money after bad. It was time to walk away.

Yikes good to know

Appreciate the info ! The LC should give you 200k trouble free miles hopefully

Congrats
Based on the leaves and trees in your picture Im guessing your in lower NY or CT

A very sweet ride, my 200 is the same year...I've had it since late August with zero issues.

NE winters are rough. Get under the truck every 6 months with a wire brush and a can of rustoleum.

Congrats on the LC.

I'm on my 2nd, but originally came from a 200k mile 1990 absolutely bullet proof 4 Runner. I have a friend who's Tacoma frame was replaced by Toyota here in Denver, same reason, rust. Seriously, what the hell is going on, that is unacceptable Mr. T. It has been noted on this forum that the 200 series will develop some surface rust on the frame and other bits, good advice to keep an eye on it.

Welcome to the obsession.

Congrats on the new ride!!!

I followed your saga with the 4R on Toyota-4runner.org. It was a rough affair to read from afar, so I can't imagine the feelings having to deal with it in real life. I look forward to hearing your impressions/ opinions on the switch to the LC200 as in a few years my wife and I hoping to make the same leap and pick up a 2-3 year old 2015. (Luckily our 07 4Runner is in great shape but I won't lie and say it's not without some diligent undercarriage maintenance to prevent the rust issue... amazing what a combination of POR-15 under Fluid Film and some eastwood internal frame coating can do to preserve a frame and control arms.

@M1911 are you on ar15.com? That story sounds familiar...
