My new babies.... soon to be mounted :D

Everything's buttoned up - wheels got put on today (15" round-hole 'crawlers wrapped with 35" Pro-Comps), but I need a 1" spacer, even with the proper backspacing... rubbing on the caliper up front. :D I swear, if it isn't one thing, it's another.

All that's left to do is to fab up some seat bracket spacers, bleed the brakes, and measure for shocks...

Here's some pics... Cruiser porn. :flipoff2:

Junk in the trunk...

Clearance on the side (note the missing 4' of exhaust - left the tailpipe on for a laugh)... :D

And, since I still need spacers, the fronts are in the garage... :bang:

Looks sweet! Maybe I missed it but how much for the springs and shackles? I almost want to skip a SOA and just do this.

That looks awesome. I just got my Alcans this week and I am dying to get them installed. Do you have any suggestions for the install? I got 5" springs extend 3/4" on the shackle side. They were built to hold front and rear bumper, winch, 4 people and 200 lbs. of gear. Let me know if there is anything I should look out for. Did you install degree shims? Really looks good.

Sounds like pretty much the same setup I'm using, only with 4.5" springs. I did go with Charles' recommendation, and used 2" extended shackles - should be perfect when she's loaded down with gear and bumpers. :D

Depending on the shackles you use (I used 4+plus - beefy-ass pins), you may need to get different bushings. The Prothane bushings charles ships with the springs are VERY tight. I trashed four bushings and two pins trying to install them - I ended up drilling them out to about 18mm.

You'll need extended brake lines front and rear, and caster shims up front (I used 4 degree) to bring the front driveshaft back in line. Also, you'll have to extend the axle breathers, and measure for the shocks of your choice. :D

chevy

I run the chevy 63 inch rear springs under the back of mine. (62) Lotsa flex, rides awesome, super cheap ($50).

Thanks! Well, I'm pretty sure that the whole setup would be within 2-300 bucks of OME, plus you get to run 35"s... :D Springs were $925-ish? shipped, shackles were 4+plus 2" over, at $125/pr... bushings and U-bolts included with the springs... Add bilstein shocks (which I have yet to measure for), and you're pretty close to OME.

Is there any way you could take an overall height measurement for me? I am very nervous that I am not going to be able to get out of the garage.

Thanks,

Sure, tex - I'll get on it when I'm back home. I'm in Cali for my birthday right now - loadin' up on booze today! :D

FWIW, the top of my rear fender well is sitting right at about 43-44".... with the 35"s on, there's about 8-9" of clearance from the top of the tire to the fender. Does that help?
