Hi all,

New to the forum. I currently don't have an FJ, but I've been reviewing forum threads to get smart on them so I can get one someday. I've been starting to look for FJ60/62's that don't break the bank, which is not easy.

Do you search the classifieds here? Are you looking for a project, a driver, a driving project, etc? If you’re ready to buy, post a wanted ad in the classifieds. Helps if you narrow down whether you want a 60 or 62, what features (lift, stock, etc). I know a lot of people that view the 60/62 as “the same”, but there’s big differences to me at least: I’m pretty partial to round headlights.

I know a guy who may have one for sale soon…. He’s a great guy and looks like not too far from you…..

Yea I've been cruising the classifieds to see what is out there and get and idea of pricing. It's crazy how they're anywhere from under 10K to 60K. Looking for a driver, don't care if it's lifted or not just something I can enjoy and work on more cosmetic type mods like roof rack, bumper, etc. (I'm a gal with a young daughter, so my husband and don't have much free time to work on vehicles)

I like the fuel injection the 62's offer, but I can take or leave the power windows/locks etc, just more to maintain to me. Also seems easier to find 60s over the 62.

I'm up in WA, so also looking for something in the West, which narrows the search quite a bit. I've got some models I watch on BaT too.

Also the 62 is automatic and a 60 is clutch/gear shifter. This can be a big consideration for many people as well. Most 62's have a rear seat headrest and 3 point seat belt system in the rear bench seat vs the lap belt of a 60. If the 62 doesn't have the 3 point belt they have the screw there that makes it very easy to add. Also a consideration for kids.

Yea, I'm aware of the manual vs auto, either is fine with me, I've driven both. Keeping my options super open because of the price differences and such. I don't have a ton of extra cash, so unfortunately my options are very limited. I'm even looking at the smaller FJ70/BJ70s for sale. 3 point belts would be good too, if possible.
