Have had the LC almost 3 years. LX 6 months. Both great rides. LC was a lot cheaper!

Now we can find out!!

I have received mixed messages and just wondered your opinion...Which one has the better on road ride? Some have said the LC because the LX has 20's. Some have said the LX. After your experience with both what do you have to share?

LX has adjustable suspension. It's far more comfortable (seats move further back - I'm tall - and wrap around your back), really quiet (has the cover in engine bay - my wife just remarked yesterday how much my LC growls compared to her LX), and the suspension can be made loose or medium or tough.

I guess in theory 18s would be more comfortable on road than 20s but overall LX is much more comfortable.

That being said, I am not a bling type guy and prefer the incognito style of the LC.

I really wish I could adjust the height of the rear of the LC for putting trailers on the truck and using salt water boat ramps but I can't, and I'm not going to launch a boat with an $85k LX

Consider then, Coil-rite airbags from Firestone. Cheap, adjustable, effective. Designed exactly for what you seek to achieve.

That plastic cover does not help dampen engine noise. The car as a whole probably has 100+ lbs more insulating material than the LC.

You could add airbags to the LC for towing very easily.

Just curious, but why not launch the boat with the LX? They are the same vehicle other than the luxury bits and AHC.

It cost $26k more than the LC and it's 3 years newer. The LC has worn out leather, mud stains, rust, etc. and 75k miles

Not going to subject the LX to that. yet anyway

Air Bags are needed

Mine are in the garage waiting to be installed.
The 1999 cant tow my boat any distance. Just doesnt have the low end torque needed. Constantly hunting for the right gear. I use it to get to the marina and back but for trips to montauk its the 2011.

What brand did you get? Is this something you can control the height automatically? Link?

Had to buy two different brands. One was airlift the other firestone. I cant remember which brand was for which truck. I'll take pics of the boxes and post later.

I'm going to simply install them with the valve easily accessible and take along a 12v pump with a pressure gauge. Besides towing the boat anytime I pack either truck for trips the a$$ hangs low. Really annoying. I hate blinding the people in front of me at night and I get dirty looks constantly.

Someone said it before, toyota should have included an auto rear level system.

Firestone coil-rites for the Landcruiser 200. Note there is a different part number for suspension lifted trucks.

Easy install, a few tricks to consider with KDSS equipped models. Do a search here and on LCool.org.au for coil-rite bags from Michigan Truck Springs (best price delivered to your door).
